Well, I don't know what exactly caused it (several opinions walking around from bad breaking connections to less-fun invasions and coop).
The dueling at the academy seem to be going strong though, did not notice any drop there.
I have not been able to coop with friends since release, so i can understand it.
Even random coop i do get summoned for is not very long lasting in 8/10 cases.
Either i get a crash during the loading screen, or someone just disconnects due to whatever mess is at work here. Be it eac or their dreaded netcode.
The fact that only "five" people uses the tongue shows what the community thinks about invasions.
Also, if I wanted to, i could play without an ember, and thus without being invaded, get to the boss and pop the ember there.
It was a trade-off, you get stronger with ember, but you also risk getting it taken away from you by another player.
I would have loved this kind of system in ER too, with rune arcs for example.
The mod you mean?
This seamless coop one from the blue sentinel maker, have seen it mentioned here and there a bit. Not yet released, but at this point i am more confident in this being a more stable experience for at least coop than whatever From has created here.
Which is a shame, as i don't mind invaders. But if my fights tend to be resolved by who disconnects first... it is kind of pointless.
So i'd rather have at least the coop experience, instead of constant "xy returned to their world", crashes or connection timeouts.
That's a side effect of serving a niche community that believes you can do no wrong and everything you churn out is gold.
I am on NG+. Dose that separate me from players that aren't playing NG+?
