Blasphemous GS >>>>>> Moon Blade
it's just another op item along the lines of Rivers, Blasphemous, Redmane, BHS, Sepukku... and many others, there's so much "broken" stuff in this game. Also, 90% of weapons are never given a chance, everyone goes for the same 10%.
nothin personel
it will get adjusted down again, guaranteed
I think if they would just reduce the damage of that slash the further away it goes, it would be better.
I don't want to use BHS just to manage to heal if I'm against 2 aggressive players with one using the moonveil. I haven't so far, but it would have saved me several times in such a situation.
Loretta's slash? Super long windup, poor hitbox and very awkward since the movement is partially locked during the animation.
Giant hunt? Other than good to rollcatch idiots who don't know about it, it's pretty much useless.
Any of the pierce attacks? Telegraphed AF, can't time the release. Anyone with a working dodge button after seeing it once will dodge them always.
All of the WA (maybe except a few?) suffer from being super telegraphed, non-timed moves where the animation always plays out the same.
Moonveil on the other hand... You can hold that WA. You can time it for a misspaced attack. The range on it is insane. You can reaction punish with it from a safe distance, removing spacing from the equation, basically (in contrast to the regular sheathe WA where you do have to use your brain with it)
ER is a continuation of Fromsoft not understanding (or pretending not to) what makes movesets / weapons viable. Forward momentum and Startup frames make or break movesets. Greatswords are a great example of a dead weapon class in ER.
And traditionally, Fromsoft loves katanas. There has never been a single game where kat's weren't at least considered "good".
Too many things looks and smelt the same and no differences.
Then you watched a click bait crap video. YT is full of them. People just saying whatever for the clicks. The weapon is still absolutely amazing. The only thing they did was stealth nerf the poise damage and only a little bit. Takes like one extra attack to stagger now that's it.
