I wish the whole (or most of it) game were designed like that level (as in prevoius games)
In my opinion the open world with mini dungeons doesnt feel better. Only a few of areas feels like that.(in my opinion)
And that statement is in both posstive and negative tone, sadly.
Agree
No. Only Stormveil Castle has this old "Undead Burg and surroundings" layout.
I preferred Leyndel. Raya Lucaria is good but it's more similar to DS1/DS2 corridors.
It has verticallity, hidden rooms and areas, treasure chests everywhere, difficult enemies, NPC quests, a big boss fight and more. The only place that feels similar is Leyndell.
Peak level design, remind me of Lothric which is also one of my favourite Fromsoft zones.
Kind of sad that the amazing level design ends there, but i think that's just the result of having a massive open world.
Yeah, the size really stuck out to me. I've gotten very good at mapping out these kinds of areas in my head as I go and it's one of my favorite elements of DS games. But man I was getting confused exploring this castle. I thought I was getting it and then I would come to a whole new area and think, wait this keeps going? Great stuff
