Ash of War recommendations?
Got two talismans that heal or replace fp on crits. Most mobs that don't die in one hit I can trigger this often. However some of the bosses take ages to knock down. Any Ash of wars good for stance breaking bosses? Also any good for doing the same to players?

Definitely this, it has noticeable stance break damage. Just make sure you learn how to aim it correctly, because it tends to go straight down into the ground if you're locked onto an enemy when you use it.

Another one would be glintblade phalanx, which you get by talking to Rogier in Roundtable Hold after beating Godrick. He will give you a rapier with the ash on it, which you can then remove and put on something else. You can cast the phalanx with an alternate weapon and then switch back to your main.

If you use a katana, unsheath has decent posture break as well.

There's Cragblade. It's a weapon buff that increases your weapon's attack power and poise damage by coating it with rocks.

Thanks, I found all of these haven't tried them yet. Running a int melee build with a great sword, so will try phalanx and maybe his glintstone ash. That said keep if anyone else thinks of any more post them. Cause that Craig blade sounds like it would be great for a strength run.

Spectral Lance is supposed to stance break really easily, but I haven't tested it much myself. +1 on Glintblade Phalanx though, that one is a poise breaking machine.

"Heavy" ashes of war as well as some quality ones do good stance damage. "Keen" ashes of war on the other hand I've found generally do less (but can be more swift and do more actual damage). In general, not all of them are the same.

Any "slam" ashes seem to do heavy stance damage, some do very high conventional damage as well.

For SS, Square off may be mundane, but it breaks stance very often.

Giant hunt for spears as well seems to break stance often.

One ash of war that often gets overlooked because of it being available very early on as a spell, is 'Glintblade Pebble', and it's totally different as an Ash of War vs. sorcery spell.

It has relatively short range, but huge poise break when applied to a weapon (or using a weapon from the Academy that has it already attached).

Put it on a long weapon, get in close, and cast it to chain stagger pretty much anything. Something with good crit helps with the follow up attack. I'm currently using it on the Godskin Stitcher, but it would be great as well with a Pike, Clayman's Harpoon, Cross Naginata or Nagakibo.

Try it :steamhappy: Oh...it has the added benefit of really messing with bleed build guys in pvp.

Oh yeah, I pulled that out to test on an arcane build and it definitely crushes posture. Quick cast and decent range, but the actual damage is mediocre.
