Unless you are already investing stats into both and just want a convenient tool that does both instead of having to switch. Though it should be noted those spell tools in previous titles always did vastly inferior damage compared to the specialized tools.
That's pretty much the draw, yeah. It'd be nice to have a seal that could cast Unseen Form and Assassin's Approach or all of the 'Mist' spells - low-requirement utilities that don't rely on scaling much, if at all - without needing to use two weapon slots to do it. I'd use it, anyway just for the sake of appearances if nothing else.
Just wield the catalyst for both? Prince of Death Staff is int/faith scaling as is Golden Order Seal so just swap them depending on the spell.
As was said, items like this existed in previous games and that's why. I'm not going to lose sleep over this game not having one but it was a nice, convenient option to have for low-requirement utilities where scaling isn't a relevant factor.
i'm not trying to start an argument, just pointing out that you don't need two stats.
AS IN, if you invest in only INT, and got a staff that could cast incantations, good. But the incantation you want to use requires like 30 FAI to actually use, regardless of the tool. So you would still need both unless you use a bunch of stat boosting equipment.
