- Healing on every single hit, even if you block it, is cheap. She also heals if she hits allies that are already dead and going through their death animation, so a summon or phantom dying can end up healing her by 40% or more if she was Waterfowling on them.
- Waterfowl is guaranteed death unless you have Bloodhound Step or you're so paranoid about it that you're already half the arena away because you saw her jump.
Remove or nerf those two and I guarantee you'd see far less complaints about her.
You do realize you can dodge waterfowl in melee range right? With out bloodhound step....
Also, someone posted a video in another thread of an easy way of dodging Malenia's combo. Dodge forward, wait, dodge again, then move behind her, basically. Upon watching it (since I haven't fought and likely won't fight this boss), it's the kind of dodge that no one's going to naturally do without "figuring it out" over dozens of deaths. If that attack is unblockable as well, I can see what the complaint is. Of course, you're still going to get the people who think it's fair and balanced because they think the point of Souls is to just die a hundred times.
You're confusing skill with knowledge. Elden Ring does not reward skill, it rewards knowledge.
Spamming Bleed, Rot, and OP Ashes on the bosses isn't much different from spamming Mimic, but that's fine since you can spam all four. Refusing to use this stuff is basically just trying to play the game as a normal knight, the same way you could play the previous Souls games. The fact that trying to do that, trying to just use a sword, is considered a "challenge run" now speaks for itself. If Elden Ring rewarded skill, that wouldn't be the case, but it doesn't. If anything, it punishes skill. (
In DS3 interviews he said that one of the requirements for game approval was that he himself had to be able to beat it.
In ER interview he said he would not play it lol.
He clearly changed his mind then

I want to force the Game Dev to try to play their own Game, & everytime a White Crash loads, They loose a finger to a hammer as it's bashed off over the side of a table...
The things we come up with when
Game Devs don't deliver to their customers.
Only really worthy interviews I think are the ones on the Design Works books.
