what is considered overleveled?
a simple question with many answers. My question is what is considered overleveled for you're first playthrough? Some will say its somewhere between 150- 200 however i have the misfortune of knowing someone even more then that. I wish to know from you guys if this is over leveled or not. The person is question is 500 rune level(first playthrough btw) cause he was scared of Elden ring's difficulty and bosses as well as using summons and mimic's to help him(all while at rune level 500). I don't want to argue with the summons/mimic's topic as we all have heard it before but being 500 rune level first playthrough is literally breaking the game's difficulty cause u sadly are unable to beat the game within reasonable rune levels. But i ask again what do u guys think?

PvP is not considered in this

i would say anything past like level 300 is just unnecessary

I stopped leveling at 150, but that is mainly so I can partake in duels. If you're not going to PvP then who cares? Level up as much as you want.

Level 310 and loving it.

It is when you rush to powerful weapons and stones too far away. If you use online maps to see the stones locations.
This is problem from soft introduced when they made ER open world. It wasn't like that in linear.

Is this one of those "a friend of a friend..." questions? How did you, I mean, how did he reach RL500 on your, I mean, on his first run anyway? I'm pretty sure I've killed almost everything that can be killed and I'm barely RL163.
I would say that at regular NG, beating the game after 150 is considered overleved. You don't need that many levels to beat the game imo.

But well, you can if you want to.

He probably farmed the crows or the aubinarics at mogh's palace.

Anything past 125 is gestalt territory and gestalt characters are always soulless cookie cutter BS.

what i'm saying is 500 is way to much for your first play through as i've gotten comfrimed info that the person is question was too scared of Elden Ring's diff. so he wanted to be as over leveled as possible to one shot all the bosses and still consider himself a good player

lmao people will just call him a scrub, not a good player if he does that.
I mean, if your idea of fun is doing that, go for it, but to consider yourself a good player in beating the game this way is a huge stretch.

There are diminishing returns and hard caps. Getting to 500 is pointless

I stop at around 200 because I can still get summoned for coop plenty at that level, and levelling past that really doesn't offer much benefit when you're making specialized builds.

And builds that do everything just end up being boring, or full of clutter in the end.

he will deny that sadly and yes he says he'sjust as good as no summons/mimic/1level users but really he's just fooling himself

You get to be able to do everything though. You don't have a build when your character can just do anything the game allows you to. Plus, you do have diminishing returns, but they are still there and bit by bit they can make quite the difference later on.

Not a very fun way to play the game imo, but to each their own, of course.

as i said to him, he didn't care and just wanted to one shot the bosses and incase the bosses do hit him, it'll do like what very little damage to him as he said he has a life and can't afford to play elden ring and its bs diff, (all his words btw)

If the rune drop from a particular boss cannot raise my level at least once, I consider myself overleveled for that boss.
