I'm not usually a Dex in Souls games, but starting STR/DEX usually helps you transition into Quality later so you can eventually try out all the weapons. Also feels like your build gets finished faster when you're not sacrificing things like health in favor of whatever magic-centric stats they put in. Lastly, Souls games tend to lack a ranged option when going STR, and given Elden Ring's open nature, I kind of want a bow as backup to be able to lure and pull something that might be up a hill or down a hallway.
The magic looks badass though, just looking at it makes me want to check out all the fascinating spells. If I don't end up transitioning Dex into Quality, I might end up going Dex into Dex/Int.
If a good strength scaling halberd is available, I am going with Faith
Can scaling be increased like with a heavy gem in DS3 for example?
Also I just realized there is a world map with five other islands and I was here thinking that map from the network test was the whole thing. Even more amazed now, can't wait
