I have played all the Demon and Dark Souls games, plus Bloodborne and Sekiro Shadows Die Twice. Never did I think, there should be any sort of romance. The games don't need it either.
Most fans will agree with me by saying that romance in Elden Ring would ruin it. You might think it would work, but it wont.
There are games that have romance. You can play Dragon Age or Mass Effect, even Skyrim has romance options.
But the fact your OP has the word waifu, you want Elden Ring to be some anime hentai porn simulator.
skyrim doesnt have any romance, that marriage quest is nothing
no i "don't particulary entertain the idea of having a date sim, honie pop, futa story ridden with sex and fetishism, since I also think that bad romance = bad, what a surprise", so i dont want some anime hentai porn simulator what a surprise eh
have you ever heard of ad hominem?
Then what do you want? You want your Tarnish to flirt with a teapot? Or do want some kissing action with a beast?
Like can I kiss you before I plunged my sword into your skull type action? You say everything that you don't want it to be but you haven't even describe what you wanted.
I mean an unconventional romance. That describes nothing.
As I stated before, the game doesn't need or there should be any sort of romance. I am not playing the game because I can't wait to bone the dragon that wants to roast me like a marshmallow.
Kanon, ever17 - these are the first two visual novels that come to my mind when trying to describe a romance without anything sexual or even kisses. I mean, is it really that hard to imagine? Can't people's love be told without them kissing? Davy Jones and Calypso - a tragic mini story if you actually bothered to search anything about them beyonde the two pirate movies. An oridnary sailor who fell in love with the goddess of the sea. It's... I'm afraid my proficiency with the language won't do them justice.
Jones wholeheartedly loved Calypso, he sacrificed everything he had for that purpose, but in return only wanted humane love. And yet, Calypso was a goddess who hoped that the Dutcham's captian truly loved her very nature, not her human form, she hoped, she wanted to believe that Davy Jones accepted every aspect of her, a.k.a truly loved her. One was foolish enough not to realise that he fell in love with the person he did not fully know, the other was foolish enough not to realise that she was not being loved. Alas, that is only my interpretation of their feelings, their story.
Also, something like saya no uta -hentai scenes would also serve as a great example.
Again, is it really that hard to imagine an "unconventional romance-like story" without kisses? Like, come on... Like, honestly...
And I'm not even talking about fully fledged romance like in saya no uta, that would simply not fit From's narrative. I only really ask for "Think of Dark sould 3 but with more waifu interactions and screen time overall", not in one instance was anything sexual or hand holding or kissing mentioned. Just DS3, with more waifu interactions, with more screen time, with more accent on companionship and boom - a step closer to my idea of "unconventional romance-like story".
Well unfortunately for you, the game will not have any sort of romance. You can make believe that there is a unconventional romance going on. But sorry to burst your illusory wall, Elden Ring is not about unconventional dry cleaning.
Also, fortunately for you, even if there was a romance story, it would not feature femboys/futas. But you, too, know that.
Well, Maiden in black, Anastacia, Emerald Herald, The Firekeeper, The Doll are all popular characters and many people adore them in a more intimate, not smut, lewd way. Don't think you saying most people would't want any sort of romance is entirely true, especially since your understanding of romance (smut, lewd required) and mine (no smutness, no lewdness is required) were different.
If it is low quality bait then the person doesn't usually keep commenting paragraphs, so if it is bait it is of a commendable quality, although i believe it kinda flips, if the OP caused a massive ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ by the OP and only the OP like mosh does with his "playstation > PC" posts, then it is high quality, BLACK also is pretty good.
Atleast that is my rating method

Yeah I would call that unconventional romance. Hey can I stab you in the face on our wedding day?
