Sadly, OP, no, there's no way to turn off the fog. There's many places where I would love to do that, to see the scenery and the world (even in some dungeons), but there's no way to do it. Perhaps someone will make a mod that zeroes the fog effects. But until then... no. Sadly.

It doesn't work like that.

Yes it does work like that. During daytime there is no fog. Even in the swamp if you rest until day it will get rid of most of the fog. Also maybe turn your graphics settings all the way up.

i know they're not easy to find, that's why the fog was annoying me even more because i couldn't even see if i was looking in the general direction lol

try setting volumetric quality to low in sytem>graphics>advanced options and turning your brightness up. this did it for me. much less fog. it was anoying me as hell.

I'd like to turn it off to get my damn framerate back up...

you can in fact get rid of fog but you have to manually edit the config file. C:\Users\yourusername\AppData\Roaming\EldenRing, find GraphicsConfig, edit in notepad type DISABLE for volumetric fog and enjoy. might have unhide hidden folders in view in file explorer to see AppData Folder. you have to reboot game to see effect and DO NOT go into you graphics settings in game or it will reset volumetric fog back up to low.

Mine resets these things even with the graphicsconfig edited.

Even after it resets, the changes I made are still in the file...

does it get rid of fog effect in the world before it resets or is it just not working once you get in game? here is an example of what my graphicsconfig looks like.

my comment was not in regard to fog walls to enter bosses it was to get rid of of fog effects in the world like near raya lucaria ect. it will get rid of most open world fog effects. it won't get rid of a fog wall to enter bosses

With me is anti-aliasing that keeps getting reset. I have it set to off in the file itself, but every time I start the game its set on "high" regardless.
