I believe I've seen mention it has something to do with his quest.
One of my playthroughs my eyes were either like yellow or gold. like the entire eye. It hasnt happened in any other playthroughs I have done though.

ohhhhhhhh. now I think on it I did hear an npc mention dragon stuff corrupts. I just figured it was the typical "No this power is evil and corrupty...but will never effect you at all so go nuts" its cool they actually added some visual corruption.

anyways I’m not aware of any other eye effects but it would be cool if there were, sadly they don’t seem to persist into NG+ but maybe they can be turned back on? I never tried…
