Bloodhound's Step Galore
PvP meta is absolutely infested with nothing but bloodhound step, bleed builds. It's such a boring thing to fight against because there's no counter play to it. If you try and space it and hit them at the end of the animation and their attack, they can just spam bloodhound step again. If you end up trading, the other person will likely end up winning the trade because they have poise and will just face tank your attack and stack instant bleed on top of it. The only thing I can think of is to just roll everything until they run out of fp but blood step has such little fp consumption that it would take way too long than I'm willing to spend. Bleed also stacks even if you're i-framing their attacks so not even rolling all their attacks will work.

What is the counter play to Bloodhound's Step?

Melee builds didn't need them to be good in past games so what if they do? It's purely a bonus move for Melee builds. The fact they are so good, and so cheap to spam to the point that's almost all anyone does shows they do in fact need to be nerfed hard. I would say quadruple most Ash of Wars FP cost as a starter. Only those early game one's that are not so powerful should be cheap.

I enjoy using ashes of war, and I'd rather not have them be dumbed down just because you don't like them.

They are an option, and they should remain a viable option.

Thats something that needs to happen. The ashes of war experiment was fun for a while buts its clearly breaking the game
Guys, just because you don't do pvp doesn't mean it's not important to adjust the balancing of the game. Recognize that there's a significant part of the playerbase that does do PvP and things should be balanced accordingly.

Myth.

Those tools were nerfed due to PvE abuse. Too many bosses could be cheesed.

And they are still good.

exactly. i made a second character and used frost stomp, bh step, and moonveil swap and it was so damn easy it was atrocious. not to mention the fact the iframes are completely busted on it and its trashing PVP. from a users point of view they probably assume they are just gods at dodging attacks, but the reality is that they are essentially invincible while using it.

People are defending Hoarfrost and BHS cause they are dependant on it in Pve or pvp and dont think how op the skills are, they just think theyre good at the game by spamming something that does absurd damage and gives you ultra instinct at practically no cost in FP or stamina lol.

Then they argue that not everyone pvps, therefore it shouldn't be fixed. ♥♥♥♥ outta here lmaooo
At the end of the day, it's a dodge. It's a good dodge, but it doesn't kill you or completely changes the way you need to play. It costs FP and you can still punish it, if you read people correctly. I'll much rather fight someone using Bloodhound Step than someone just trying to L2 spam you to death with Moonveil or ROB, makes for a much more interesting fight.

Your post also mixes two things, are you complaining about BHS, Bleed or particularly just the combination of those?

Who cares about PvP? The game is PvE focused. And the game is balanced for bloodhounds step in that aspect for several reasons.
- Dodging requires no FP, and has the least i-frames. Quickstep requires 3 FP, and has more i-frames, bloodhound requires 5 and has the most. So the cost is balanced for what it gives you.
- You have to defeat a high level night cavalry that will one-shot low level characters with just about any attack.

If you're skilled enough you can get it, and if you're skilled at doing it, obviously it will work out in your favor. If you complain about it in PvP, it means you are probably neither. That is the last I will say on the subject. GIT GUD.

they dont realize that because it isnt their focus, that it doesnt mean it isnt other peoples focus. the fact their are entire groups based around PVP shows that there is a large group of people that enjoy PVP. and nothing they have balanced thus far has made those items or skills not viable, it just made it more difficult to spam the same thing repeatedly for the win. They should petition for an easy mode if thats what theyre looking for.

You do realize most people cheese that guy who gives you the BHS? So by your logic, someone who cheeses that boss is good enough.

Another example, my friend, who is absolute dog shi t at pvp and the game, he heard about this BHS and bleed build, he tried it out, and he is now as he describes it ''Im a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ god at this game''.
He even streamed it to me on discord showing me how broken the ♥♥♥♥ was.

There is nothing skillfull about using 1 button to dodge all attacks til the animation finishes and travelling 3 rolling distances at the cost of 5FP and practically no stamina, AND you can literally spam this, not only for defense but for gapclosing.
The fact that you're saying otherwise literally shows everyone here you are one of those people using it and thinking you're good at the game by using this skill lmao.

Blodohound step also moves you so far away that all the pressure built on you is rendered moot with 5 fp. There is simply no reason to use quickstep when bloodhound step exists. at the minimum it needs to cost more for everything it gives you.
