Name a more difficult game you have played
This forum is littered with posts talking about the difficulty of this game and accusing play styles of being easy mode. But is this game even that hard?

In my opinion Valheim is a much harder game. No fast travel. No special skills. You drop everything you have equipped on death meaning boss fights take extreme planning such as building a spawn point near boss fights with back up gear in case you die and even often having to build a boat to travel to said boss fight - thats if you make there. Your skill levels also lower upon death occasionally. This is certainly harder than simply losing your runes and respawning at a cozy grace/statue.
What game/games are harder than ER in your opinion?

The fact is, if it's possible with a tool, it's possible by way of natural human reflexes.

That's just misleading as speedrunning and speedrunners have very often found human un-viable or impossible tricks. They can find setups that take out the human element or do entirely different versions of tricks that often are slower than the TAS.

Reading this topic is otherwise super interesting, and shows how dumb the gatekeeping is with Souls. There's tons of games either subjectively or objectively harder than Souls games.

Here's my entry that nobody has heard of: Distorted Travesty 1 and 3, especially 3 if you put on Achilles (One hit Kill) mode. I died literally 3000 times learning how to no-hit the final boss. And I know because the game counts. I died 5000+ times that playthrough.

And that wasn't even the hardest difficulty modifer, because you can do a "Nightmare Achilles" which is the equivalent to SL1, on top of OHK.

But hey, Easy Mode would RUIN souls because it's the peak of difficulty and design, apparently.

I mean, it kinda does. If you die, delete that character and make a new one. Good luck getting past the tutorial boss, tho.
I can get by it and I have before. Those chariots in the hero graves though? Nope those things always kill me a few times lol
So you've killed the tutorial boss on a new character? Gonna need a video of that. You can't just run by him, there's a fog wall in the way.

He isn't that hard with the samurai they start with enough arrows to kill it. I think the confessor can parry it and heal if that mess up with urgent heal. VaatiVidya made a video of him killing it with the confessor class.

95% of mobile game since most of them are Pay2Win, you will need many years to be strong.

anything on nes or snes.

Sometimes Sega Genesis titles could be easier, but you definitely couldn't count the brunt of them out as slouches in difficulty.

Bunch of trolls but obviously Sekiro one of the hardest games out there. People will say its not but its the same people who hide their profiles

I played many dozens games harder than Elden Ring or any other From Software game.
Zelda 2 is a random one I'll mention, try that with no save states or any other modern emulation crap lol
