Missable means that if you (by mistake or intentional) go and do some quests in the wrong order or if you make the wrong decision during a quest or if you kill some NPC, then you will permanently be locked from ever getting said item/ability/quest etc. in the current playthough and you then have to start another game.
but then.. i think radahn in the trailer is sane and has both feet so mb it's the lore backdrop of not the player but the first tarnished being displayed? still does nothing for those who just wanted the armor but still
No, it's not my fault. FromSoft quests are obscure and written in an cryptic way, which makes things super easy to miss.
If you want things to be fair, then at least give me a genuine chance to attempt to complete the quest. Let me use my brain, have me do some problem solving. Instead, FromSoft locks stuff behind quests that I am forced to do in a fixed order or I fail them permanently. As a player, you need to either read up using a guide in order to get right or if you complete it correctly then it's purely by accident.
No it doesn't. In this particular case. It rewards you for accidentally doing the quests in the expected order that the devs wanted you to do them in. It's purely arbitrary and thus completely unfair.
Typical git-gudder response. What? You dared criticize this perfect game? Well, that must be because you are a Fortnite fan, isn't it?
FromSoft games quest design does not reward skill of any kind. It just rewards luck and is arbitrary in nature.
Hey, you completed the steps of this obscure quest in the exact order that the powers that be expected you to? Good, here's the reward.
What? You got creative and did stuff in a slightly different sequence of steps than the one we wanted you to follow? Haha, you wanted to use your brain? Well, that's too bad. You will be permanently locked out of this reward. Better luck next playthough.
Amazing design, what can I say.
I would actually have no qualms with it if they actually demanded the player to use their brain and solve a problem. But as it is, the criteria for success is purely arbitrary.
Fromsoft quests reward exploration, paying attention to dialogue, and investigating the different clues you were given.
See above. You get the Raging Wolf armor as a reward for doing things for the Volcano Manor faction, and you went and murdered the leader of that faction. Is that such a hard concept to understand?
