Thing is both attacks from the sword are meant to be melee-based. The range on the beam was way too high to give you any risk. The main issue I had with the sword is the fire having quite a long cast animation.. the beam is great though even with the nerf.
There's really no denying that the sword's attacks were way too powerful for what they are.
The frost stomp isn't part of the discussion here, but to quickly quell this, you literally just said exactly what the stomp should be. It shouldn't be doing more damage than a normal hit. It's a conal aoe with frost buildup and stagger damage. The entire point is to use it to stagger your opponent then hit them. That's why they increased the cast time as well so you actually combo it together with something else rather than just spamming away at the stomp.
Looks like someone else figured it out. That is a bigger amount than I thought.
Carian Filigree Talisman is basically required to reduce the FP costs of the skills. R1 is 20 FP with it. R2 is 26 FP.
