Idk if there's some keybind I missed that allows you to use skill from main hand normally.
Do not believe there is a way apart from what you already described.
It should use it instead of your main-hand weapon art.
The only time you use your main hand weapon art is if your off-hand is empty, or holding an item with 'No Weapon Art'
Of course, two handing always uses the weapon you're holding, so you can use either ability whenever you want.
mainhand skill takes priority
for some buffs you can 2hand the weapon - apply your buff and then switch your mainhand and buff that too
i run 3 swords to powerstance all the time - i switch my mainhand to have access to damage skill or bloodhound dash if needed
For powerstancing, there is no way not to use the mainhand skill.
It uses the main hand skill in that way. Seems its only off hand skill if its a shield in the off hand.
