Lichdragon Fortissax boss battle CRASHES game
Any idea how to prevent this crash? I was about to kill the dragon with one hit and then game crashed.
Luckily I did not lose my save data and I tried to battle it again. This time game crashed much faster.
I am afraid of losing my 100 hours of progress if it crashes just when the game is saving, so I am afraid of continuing game. :er_sweat:

Playing with lowest settings fixed my problem with this fight.

That boss definitely has some performance issues. I didn't crash but my fps would drop like crazy any time he started cranking up the fireworks. Surprised I beat him on account of that

FS Games are pretty good at saving so it would be more than surprising if you lost more than a few minute's of gameplay at most.

That said, verifying the game via steam is likely worth trying if you haven't already.

got the same problem, rx580 here, tried 5 times, all of them game crashed, on 2 i almost defeated him, but the game crashed before i could win the fight. tried lowering graphics settings too, but to no avail, files are verified.

just did it by putting graphics on low and reducing resolution.

I lowered the settings to 'low', then during the fight, my screen changed to a really low resolution, even a pop up window stating AMD driver error, but the fight still goes on, with the low resolution plus grainy effect.

But i did won the fight, well my mimic does the heavy hitting. So I hope the devs repair the issue.

Make a manual backup of your save file then you won't have to worry about losing progress.

Is this a problem strictly with AMD graphics cards? I've heard someone else talk about how Fortissax can crash the game on desktops running AMD cards so I'm wondering if this is an isolated issue with AMD.

BACKUP YOUR SAVES. You should be doing this anyway.

Save location: C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\EldenRing\<random numbers>

Copy the contents, put it somewhere that it won't be modified by anything.

If AMD has software similar to nVidia's "GeForce Experience" that has "recommended settings" it forces on a driver-level.. this is probably the issue. Most people these days let software like this force settings on games without even launching the game(s) the first time to check and see if said settings even exist within the game natively.

Needless to say, performance issues ensue and they want to blame the game when it is in fact this pitiful software that's at fault.

I think its AMD issue I also have Rx590 :er_sweat:.
But ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ I love this game even after months :er_heart:

It must be AMD specific, I tried with my old GTX 970 and had no crashes. Tried with a much older R9 395x2 and it crashed, and on my current 3080 it does not crash.
