Fix input delay
Please fix the huge input delay. It just takes too long for the game to register a button press and it's really starting to irritate me. Surely more people have noticed this but I haven't seen it discussed.

Sekiro had super smooth combat. Coming from that the difference is too big. Actually coming from any modern action game I guess. (aside from maybe monster hunter)

Yea it sure did which makes it even more baffling how they messed this up.

OP is just jesterfarming, in denial about their system, or has psychosomatic delayed-input sensory delusion disorder (PDSDD)

He probably means dodge/sprinting and having to release the button for a dodge to occur. There's also input buffering which can make you perform actions seconds after you don't want to do them anymore. Going into a crouching position also makes you unable to dodge until the animation is completed, while working as intended is very infuriating since it's rather easy to press it by accident and it has no real benefit to the player if they added animation canceling to the crouch, as in no tactical advantage. If you could cancel attacks like in that on DS3 overhaul mod it would be bonkers, but canceling crouch wouldn't do much besides making the game more playable.

It's not input delay it's move/action buffering

Edit: also a lot of stuff is on release, not press

Step 1) Download OBS.
Step 2) https://gamepadviewer.com/#
Step 3) Make sure gamepadviewer is visible on OBS so we know when the button is being pressed.
Step 4) Post video evidence of input delay.
Step 5) Forward video to From Software.

This is why I just unbind crouching during boss fights. I effectively remove it from the game, so it can't get in the way.

The player being penalized by a mechanic to the point that they disable it is a failure on FromSoft's part, and I'm hoping they make the crouch animation dodge cancelable.

I'd do it too, if it wasn't for the fact I like it for dismounting your horse and it is semi-useful for "stealth" in some places. Having to unbind/rebind it for every major boss would break me.
I hope the same and they'll make it so you can simply cancel it. Gestures you can already cancel ever since DS2, so I see no issues with it. PvP is the only time it may play a role, but again, what would crouching do for you? Nothing really. Really hope they'll patch it or I might unbind too eventually or get a DualShock 4 and bind it to the touchpad. Or better yet, get one of those racing pedals and bind crouch to it, no need to reach for the keyboard anymore.

Since you seem to be jester farming, I went ahead and gave you one. Since you seem to be in denial of the problem, or havent experienced a higher degree of smoothness before to compare it with.

This isnt a small delay we are talking about, but a very large and noticable one. Its too easy to confirm it in something like Radahn's fight, when dodging his arrow.

There is delay and i started to notice more in the late game, speacially on roll. In some fight my dodge is null because after i press and release the button it take like 0.5 sec in register wich is late and you get hit and stun. With the attack button the delay is not that much about 0.2-0.3 sec. I started to hate the game because of it. never have this problem in the other souls game.
The right stick button is not use it, fromsoft change the crouch button there and left the dodge button on press not release. Is so hard to use such a simple solution??
