Hmm, can't really figure out how that mod is actually installed...

An alternative is to use the latest copy of Special K which added DS4 button prompts yesterday in an update. That mod can be found over on its Discord server: http://discord.gg/specialk

Should be as simple as installing SK, launching it from the start menu, launching the game through it, and then hitting Ctrl+Shift+Backspace and enabling the playstation button prompts checkbox. And maybe restart the game as well.

Though sadly neither of these mods would work online so From Software still needs to add native support fo Playstation button prompts in the game...

Don't you just have to change your controller settings in Big Picture Mode for Steam so it doesnt default to Xbox buttons?

No, that would require the game to natively use the Steam Input API which it doesn't do. You actually swap button prompts in the in-game settings manually, and you only have two options available: Keyboard/mouse and Gamepad (Xbox).

It's a definitive miss from the developers since the textures for both DS4 and DualSense is actually a part of the game.

It's to bad that you can't use it without going offline and that it is in a very hard to install in its current state.
