RESTART STEAM THING IS NOT WORKING (FIXED)

I have tried everything. Retsrating steam as it prompts, restarting my PC...EVERYTHING. It will not launch. WTF

EDIT: OKAY GUYS I FIXED IT. GO TO STEAM CLIENT UPDATES MANUALLY AT THE TOP LEFT AND CHECK FOR THEM. :)

For Those Of You Who Are In The Steam Update Loop! (read the post)

-Click on steam in the top left corner
-Click Settings
-Click Account
-Click the drop down menu to select the latest beta version
-Apply the changes and restart steam, it will do a small download
-Boot up Elden Ring after steam update.

I keep getting this error message "steam must now be restarted in order to receivve the latest update. You won't be able to continue using steam until it has restarted.|

it just happened to me and the game won't launch even after I restarted steam many times.
Are you guys having the same problem?

quit steam in task manager, it should update automatically when it restarts. that fixed it for me.

I know, I'm highly disappointed in the performance while streaming. I lose 20 fps with a 3060 ti. It's absolutely abysmal.

SOLUTION HERE!

"One of the online fixes was turn OFF Betas in Steam. Mine was already disabled. The fix however is to ENABLE Betas in Steam- Settings Account - Steam Betas Turn on.
Steam will update. then all is good. :-) I have left it on but You may be able to turn it off again? but I have not checked that."

It worked for my, I manually check for updates on Steam, then log out, log in

The answer has literally been posted twice in this thread. Top left corner, click on steam and then click on check for steam client update
