I feel like the open world stuff ruined the game

Yeah, farming runes is so fu-cking boring. Seriously, all you do is farm runes, because mobs give you small amount of them. One boss I killed gave me 1300 runes. Cool, but I need like 7k now. This just suck.

Some of the later open world areas are very visually appealing, but yeah I would have prefered that the content be condensed sort of like DS3, although I do like the amount of skips you can do.

nobody is forcing you to farm runes, you can get enough of them just by exploring areas before main boss

You don't really have to farm runes in the open-world per se. I've not done so once. You are encouraged to seek out the many dungeons and caves though. If you don't enjoy those either, then yeah, I guess it is "ruined" for you.

You can find a place early in the game where the enemies drop 1k runes. They are pretty easy to defeat even at a low level. I would suggest to explore the map mostly to discover new areas rather than to farm.

Why the hell are you farming runes???? It's an open world game. Explore, kill stuff, explore more, kill more stuff, then you get runes and go level up. If something is too difficult, go do something else. How in the hell are you people not grasping any of this?? Is this your first time ever playing an RPG? And an open world game?

There's a free 100k + runes if you kill a certain dragon that doesn't fight back and have popped a gold pickled fowl foot. Pop it once it's low, use a bleed weapon so you don't spend an eternity killing it.

The open world is boring, barren you stumble across the same ruins over and over again and explore a dungeon so small it would make bloodborne labyrinth dungeons look huge. I have no motivation to do ANY of that.

Yeah man, I am so fatigued of searching for items its insane im 30 hours in 1/3rd of the map explored how is it even possible to search every nook and cranny in this world without going insane or getting bored. On another note, the fully detailed dungeons were so much fun, they were literally 95% of the game play getting smacked down and trying to beat annoying enemies that tilted you the wrong way and every location was so detailed for secrets and creatures, this is 95% of avoiding boring enemies to find no items to just walk into a boss with the tense build up.

I actually enjoy the open world. I know there's not a lot of craziness out there but there are cool things to find. I think trying to explore it on foot would be trash though. Mount is a must.

But I do see where you are coming from. I still think it's a great souls game with lots of content in the legacy areas and stuff, with the added open world. I don't feel like the open world took away from the game. I like it.

Please give me an example of cool open world stuff, stumbling across the same ruins and going through the same dungeon 300 times isn't fun to me. Maybe im missing something, but after almost 100 hours of playtime I have yet to find ANYTHING to make me think the open world is worth the time.

kill all the boss in the area, im currently lvl 86 and i have never farmed for runes

Interesting, while for me it's the first Dark Souls game I actually enjoy. And that open world is the key component to that, allowing me to wander off and progress elsewhere when I inevitably get stuck somewhere.
