Before i buy: Is there really no difficulty scaling in this game?
Im not very patient, well maybe a little, but i dont like to be punished to the brink of my sanity being broken :P

So.. is there a easy, normal hard mode? or scaling difficult?

There's no difficulty selection in this or any other soulsborne game.

No, it is a git gud or gtfo style game. With that being said, it is an open world which means if you are getting owned, go explore more and come back later. Lots of ppl seem to be forgetting the game is open world and raging that the game is so hard because they are to stupid

no scalling difficulty but game can be easier if you explore a bit prior doing big boss.

There's no easy, normal or hard mode. But because this is open world certain areas are tougher or easier than the other.

And of course the more you level up, the more health you have and damage you do which in turn makes fights relatively easier. Of course it won't necessarily make you dodge or parry better or help your timing in fights, but at least it will mean if you get hit you'll have more health and therefore more time to recover.

There is no difficulty scaling in the game or any of the From software games, unless you use the New Game+ feature (where the difficulty scales, but its a static value irrespective of the character level).

you can make things easier by being over leveled, mounted combat in the open world and very often ranged combat.

No. As with other souls-games you are going to die a ton, especially to bosses. Bosses are brutal but they are not unfair. If you die, it's because you messed up. You meant to learn boss and enemy patterns through repetition - that will involve dying a lot. If you're looking for baby's day out for a fun adventure, this is not your game.

wait so mobs are just one difficulty as well as the boss? So how long would it take to explore the open world before it would be "easy" to kill the boss?

The game has an easy mode but its not a toggle. Its a way to play - all FromS games had those. You just need to know what items to equip and how to level you character.

There are no difficulty settings....
But, you have options to make encounters easier.

You can explore more, over leveling for areas...
You can utilize the spirit ashes to summon ai companions to help fight...
You can summon npc companions on some fights....
You can use the multiplayer items to summon player companions for fights. (Coop does open you up to be invaded by other players though)

There are some ways to make things easier, but not a simple difficulty toggle.

There's also no real natural scaling to the difficulty -- it's not as if you learn to walk before the game points you straight at a difficult enemy. And if that boss wasn't prefaced with a misty wall? Well, now any unused runes are locked within the boss area :machine_lifeform:

Depends on the boss..... There are tons of bosses. I spent 15 hours exploring before killing the first main story boss Margit. Some ppl went straight there

There is no level scaling, as it should be.

Try looking past the surface of "difficulty" for a second. In a game with no level scaling, the world feels more real. There are stakes, there is danger and risk, and danger and risk are exciting. You find a new area you haven't been in, and you have no idea what's awaiting you inside that cave or structure, or even out in an open field that looks safe but might be a place where a dragon comes down out of nowhere. That is the core of what makes an adventure compelling.

It makes the game so very much better, and I wish people could get past what feels like "too hard, no fun" and appreciate the bigger picture.

this game series tries very hard to minimize things like tutorials, checkpoints, continues, basically anythin "gamey".

its easy mode is to summon coop helpers n to use ranged attacks from a safe distance. ranged attacks r powerful.

they rly try to be as immersive as possible... so u dont save ur game, u rest at a bonfire... u dont add fire buff to ur sword, u add pine resin mixed wit charcoal to ur weapon then set it on fire... ♥♥♥♥ like that.

over time ppl complained so much that they changed a lot... but some stuff is till there... like easy mode. u cant select easy mode from a menu, but u can use items, spells, n tactics to make it easy. knowledge makes these games easy. coop players too.

dont be intimidated.
