And of course the more you level up, the more health you have and damage you do which in turn makes fights relatively easier. Of course it won't necessarily make you dodge or parry better or help your timing in fights, but at least it will mean if you get hit you'll have more health and therefore more time to recover.
But, you have options to make encounters easier.
You can explore more, over leveling for areas...
You can utilize the spirit ashes to summon ai companions to help fight...
You can summon npc companions on some fights....
You can use the multiplayer items to summon player companions for fights. (Coop does open you up to be invaded by other players though)
There are some ways to make things easier, but not a simple difficulty toggle.
Try looking past the surface of "difficulty" for a second. In a game with no level scaling, the world feels more real. There are stakes, there is danger and risk, and danger and risk are exciting. You find a new area you haven't been in, and you have no idea what's awaiting you inside that cave or structure, or even out in an open field that looks safe but might be a place where a dragon comes down out of nowhere. That is the core of what makes an adventure compelling.
It makes the game so very much better, and I wish people could get past what feels like "too hard, no fun" and appreciate the bigger picture.
its easy mode is to summon coop helpers n to use ranged attacks from a safe distance. ranged attacks r powerful.
they rly try to be as immersive as possible... so u dont save ur game, u rest at a bonfire... u dont add fire buff to ur sword, u add pine resin mixed wit charcoal to ur weapon then set it on fire... ♥♥♥♥ like that.
over time ppl complained so much that they changed a lot... but some stuff is till there... like easy mode. u cant select easy mode from a menu, but u can use items, spells, n tactics to make it easy. knowledge makes these games easy. coop players too.
dont be intimidated.
