HDR on or off?
HDR seams washed even with saturation cranked.

Doesnt seam like proper HDR implementation what so ever.

Make sure HDR is enabled in Windows as well.

hmm hdr should always look better unless you have a cheap hdr monitor

HDR is enabled. Turning auto HDR off makes a differecne in alot of games that support HDR native. But the game seams washed out regardless compared to SDR

its your preference...if you think hdr off looks better for you turn it off :)

I agree however i guess im curious if others are having issues. Did you make changes to the display adjustments at all ?

i have his problem too, but only in recorded videos, they look way too bright and sepia like...

in nv control panel i set br to 50 contrast to 100 gamma to 1.1 and DV to 58. HDR on in windows and HDR1000 in monitor with default settings made a huge difference in this game
The HDR in this game makes little to no difference, far as I can tell.

HDR doesn't magically make something look better if the devs/director didn't actually put the work into making it so.

This is not entirely accurate.

I cannot comment specifically on this game, as I've yet to play it, but if what DemiSlayer says is correct than it may be suffering from a similar issue that some other recent titles have which is that HDR does not work properly. Then again, I've seen plenty of threads here mentioning HDR is turning itself off spontaneously so this could also, possibly, be the cause of what DemiSlayer is seeing.

Several games like FF7R on Epic and Hitman 3 don't function correctly with the built in HDR (not Hitman 3 is especially obvious because the same carry over levels work great with HDR in Hitman 2). FF7R's HDR was reported broken at release and inferior to SDR, too, but I don't know if it has been fixed. Note, this is for native built in HDR. You can in some cases use Windows 11's auto HDR functionality to bypass this issue which may or may not produce good results as it is a different implementation that is still being improved for PC.

TBH hdr looks different, and if you dont play on a good TV theres probably no reason to turn it on. Most gaming monitors, even if they have "hdr" dont have the contrast ratio to make it look very good - thats pretty much true for every IPS/TN screen and 95% of the VA panels. It just isnt good HDR due to how the whole monitor works.

Then again, it still might look better to some cause in the end its personal preference...

Sekiro had the same problem

Do you mean super washed out brown, or just a bit off colours? Whenever I get a pop-up from Windows it disables the HDR for like 8 seconds, and goes a super washed out brown. Normally it's just a bit off colour wise. 8 Brightness, 7 saturation. So could be overlays messing it up or something.
