5 hours in, still haven't gotten a horse

So I went exploring and found a chest that poofed some gas at me that sent me to a crystal cavern that then sent me to a huge swamp and I ended up exploring most of Caelid, including most of the castle/stronghold there with the chimera boss. Everything was oneshotting me and I do ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ damage, but I got it done. Also found another place with 20 dragons and a big massive dragon that screamed at me, and then I found out that this was actually an area you're supposed to reach much, much later in the game xD

Traversing this land mass on foot was a journey but my god it was worth it. And 5 hours in I was like, so where IS the horse actually? So i went back to the first bonfire and followed it to a church then eventually got the horse, which would probably have cut my journey and hardship in half x)

Anyone else have had experiences like this?

You will get there, eventually, try horse ahead!

If you follow the grace guidance at the start, you eventually (and quickly) get the horse and the ability to level up.

Look on the map and follow the golden trail like it told you.

I found the horse in about 20 minutes.

I played 1000 h Dark Souls wihtout a horse, so I think this is ok. Hope you will find it, only 2h into the game, so I can´t help you ;)

I thought you got it at your X th bonfire or after X time. Are we all getting it in the same place then?

You get the horse right at the start of the game, at a grace outside Gatefront Ruins.

Yes the game literally tells you where it is

you can get it within the first hour, take a rest at the bonfire by the first big gate

Yes the game literally tells you where it is

Just googled it up and apparently it can happen in more than one bonfire. I got it in one to the east.
