Does horse combat suck?
Never played a game where horse combat is enjoyable, so I have my doubts when it comes to ER. How are folks liking/disliking it?

I sort of accidentally skipped the horse tutorial because I was trying to open the menu as it popped up. Unless there's more than just the main attacks, I'm finding it very awkward. Only being able to attack on one side kind of sucks.

You can attack both sides with LB and RB. Same for weapons, you have different attacks possible with LB and RB.

I hate the horse combat personally. have a really hard time hitting enemies right in front of me. it is useful for some things though like horse to horse combat is easier imo.

It's pretty terrible. Other than the performance issues, it was the only thing I truly hated and part of the reason I refunded.

It's extremely basic, the reviews mislead me about it entirely. You can jump, swing to the left or right with your main hand weapon only, or do a charged version of the left or right attack
I dislike the horse combat myself, but that's mostly because I haven't gotten used to it yet. Most fights I gotten into are just a crazy loop-around back and forth. Torrent is fun to ride and love his little double jump though. I suspect my opinions to change as the game goes on, it's not terrible though but I'm stuck in my ways of fighting on foot :P

Heavy Attacks seem to work better than Normal ones from what i tested.

I've had zero performance issues with horse combat. Works just smoothly as any other combat.

I have a pretty similar opinion, even then you can just parry or stagger mounted opponents off of their ride and critically hit them for massive damage. Only real time Torrent seems to be useful is traversal, jumping around like an idiot, avoiding combat and large scale fights (i. dragon)

But I'm also not used to the combat yet.

The Tutorial messages are save in your inventory. In the last tab I think.
its gonna vary... most of the time the combat is fine... but personally anytime the boss is also mounted, it becomes a test of frustration. Because not only does the boss have a health pool so does the horse and the boss unfortunately gets attacks that you just don't have while mounted. Not even talking about the first mounted boss either... there are others and almost all of them have a clear advantage over the player. It's infuriating if i'm honest...

From the little shoulder slam stun,

to a double stomp

To a variety of attack that dismount you instantly...

The enemies just have tools you don't and it makes all of the mounted combat sections kind of annoying. The horse is designed for transversal but has almost nothing in the way of combat abilities. So unless you unlock something later as of now i kind of hate all the mounted segments...

so probably going to be down to preference... me personally? i don't care for it.

Terrain gets in the way a lot and u get stuck really easily when locked in to an enemy and can’t see to avoid it.

As usual enemies are in no way restricted by the terrain, knocking down trees etc by touching them.

Idk about as usual.. it seems even less. I've had an enemy swing the full length of its weapon straight through the wall of a building like it wasnt there.
Is it better than Bannerlord horse combat?
