A company isn't going to know what you think is a spoiler - most people don't view just SEEING bosses as being "spoiled".
Actually, most of these trailers aren't even directed at you - they are directed at potential consumers. I let a friend see one of the recent trailers just a couple days ago and he said it answered some basic questions he had and he's now going to get it. Other people said that trailer showed too much...
This is spoilerphobe territory though. Out of context "bosses" being shown is minor enough that the potential gain for them outweighs a decade long fan thinking they saw too much...while they still have it preordered.
Movie trailers are the worst offenders by far, since most trailers these days spoil nearly all good scenes. Don't Breathe 2 IIRC spoiled nearly all of its best scenes. Imagine seeing a trailer for a movie and going "woah, yeah, that looks awesome!" and then you go to see the movie and there isn't a single action scene in there you haven't seen before in the trailer. So in the end there was no special action scene that wasn't shown and you essentially paid $15 to see some characters talk for 80 minutes.
Same goes for ER. Instead of being surprised about the cave with the spiders you'll just go "oh this area" since the store page on several websites already has that spoiled. Instead of being surprised about a level's aesthetics you just kinda shrug it off.
if you watch a ***preview*** for anything..... guess what.... that will give you a preview of the content and that is by virtue a spoiler.... no avoiding it, don't like it? Don't watch previews.... p easy.
but you are probably a child and likely would rather project your faults on others....
Trailers are meant to be watched, sure but if you think you have a low threshold for things you consider to be spoilers, it's easier for you to not watch because the company is gonna do what they want regardless.
there is nothing of the sort in my words. A trailer is something literally used to give a preview into what a consumer is getting and there is no way of doing that without spoiling the contents of the thing being showcased.
I really don't understand how you all view this as rocket science, trailers/previews are literally peaking inside the product... you can only blame yourself for peeking, this is literally true for every type of media that has a trailer or preview. If you are a fan of a series of something like this and honestly do not want anything spoiled the last thing you should do is watch promotional content for that thing.
so yeah, I guess you can cry me a river....
The point is that Bamco is showing way too much overall, from the several videos/trailers, to the NT and all the promotional material you can find on the store page and Co. Again, Mario Odyssey had basically all its levels spoiled, excluding Mushroom Kingdom, which was a secret level. It's just sad to see when literally every possible level in a game like that is spoiled. Mexican Ice Desert, Overgrown City Ruins, New York, etc. Odyssey even showed and spoiled some of the boss fights in its trailer(s).
You're all ignoring the fact that this isn't about story spoilers or event spoilers, it's solely the spoiling of locations and enemies. I literally had a look at the store page just a moment ago and saw a picture I hadn't seen yet, or if I did before I 100% didn't remember seeing it. Guess what, now I am spoiled and I know there's going to be an area withpurple crystals, similar to DS1 in this game.
I've made it my plan to literally count every single area and boss in the game and compare it to the marketing material once the game's out and I am done playing it. Because I am pretty sure half of the areas and bosses have been spoiled at this point.
