Should I Pre-Load Elden Ring?
Typically I don't bother as I've mostly been installing games on a HDD and my Internet speed is about 200-250 MPS so I've no trouble with waiting a little bit.

However, I'll be placing Elden Ring on my SSD since it will be my main game and such.
Would it be wiser to just download it at release or will my SSD unpack it faster than a dl.

I've a Samsung 860 Evo and I'm basically just wonder what choice will be faster.

Odd, Xbox can right now.

Last game I tried to pre-load on PC was Horizon Zero Dawn. That was onto an SSD and it still said it would take two days to decrypt and install.

Removing the game and downloading it only took about 30-60 minutes.

I would suggest downloading when it is released if you have a fast enough connection. I know I plan to.

I typically have better overall speed without preloading.

Strange. I preloaded Sekiro and Cyberpunk 2077, and both unlocked instantly on release.

Definitely will preload Elden Ring as soon as possible.

I'll be pre-loading for 2 reasons:

1. Last time I tried to download a big game at release (Cyberpunk) the Steam servers got throttled and the game downloaded at less than half of the normal speed I get.

2. My net speed is middle of the road. If I don't preload it will take me 5-6 hours to download 60gb.

Experiance may change from set-up to set-up, game to game, but that was the one time I tried to pre-load.

With HZD I think others complained about it too, but as others have pointed out, pre-loading worked for them.

Each person has had different experiences, so should make their own decision, not go by any one person (or group of peoples) experiance.

Really hoping for a preload. 30-60 minutes for a decrypt is better than 8 hours of downloading if I let it use all of my network bandwidth, closer to 17 hours if i throttle it so my internet is still usable.
