The gargoyles are a bit different because for some reason they decided to actually design that fight. You rarely have to fight both bosses at the same time. One will generally chill and spit poison while the other attacks in melee.
Most of the gank fights are just gank fights. They put multiple bosses in a room and called it a day.
In DS3 almost every attack comes out fast, which looking back to it makes it a bit onedimensional and after you dodge you can land a few hits.
In Elden Ring the attacks can be a mixture of fast and slow holding/charged up attacks and you have to assess whether to strike after a combo or right inbetween. The multi boss design like in DS2 is quite bad though so no fighting that
- Malenia (being too slow trying to hit her)
- Bell Bearing Hunter (1 version that had a poise of 0ver 9000 and a stagger of over 9000).
I found a fix for both bosses tho:
- Malenia (temporary switch build to a ranged faith/pyro build to beat her ass ez mode with fully flame buffed 3 hits on both her phases, staggering her to death basicly, fight took 3 seconds each phase)
- Bell Bearing Hunter: stay to you strength build. However craft yourself that super poise potion so you won't get staggered and take nearly 0 damage. Mix that with the flash giving stamina regen + Damage to HP and that boss will become a joke. R1 R1 R1 till it's death.
So yeah basicly this game forces you to use cheese mechanics that have been added to Elden Ring and weren't in all other Souls games. Gladly I only needed it for 2 bosses. All else I can still stick to 0 buff pure strength build.
You were clearly either overleveled, or using some janky mage/rot breath or other OP meta build to find that cancerous boss fight in any way "fun". For most melee players, one valiant gargoyle alone was annoying enough with the poison spam and occasional tornadoes disorientation slam, but adding a second one half way through was pure hell. I personally only completed it with a cooperator. Even with strike dmg (+14 mace at the time), my dps was far too low to take out the first one before it became a gank battle.
