Some Feedbacks & discussion about the game
Hey Guys, hey RewindApp guy.
First of all i love the game. Just wanted a game where i can drive to chill and that's exactly what i needed as a huge fan of Retrowave and Synth / 80's.

Also, i really hope the game will be developped to fix and add more content. :winter2019neutralyul:

Now, some little feedbacks about the game :

1/ I got huges freezes and low FPS the first run, then it was totally Ok
2/ Button Exit should ask before quiting the game :p
3/ Please include binding modification / remaping because the one from Unity launcher does not include all mapping like indicators. (AZERTY keyboard)
4/ Ask confirmation when buying an item, because it's a bit frustating to buy a 2500 worth color by missclicking on the screen :P
5/ Definitly needed to be binded to controller (XOne & PS4) as it'll be perfect to drive this type of game with controllers. (Using L1 / R1 for indicators, A for boost, R3 / L3 for SlowMo, ...)
6/ If you are in the InGameMenu, and you press Alt, it'll slow mo and then play the game but with the menu on lol
7/ Bind Escape or something to pause the game !
8/ If it's possible to not stop and change music when you press pause, it'll be nice
9/ We should access Audio Options from the InGameMenu
10/ If we can input our own musics it would be insane
11/ I'd like to custom my car engine sound. Like the second car has a repetitive Engine sound. A bit sad.
12/ Best Score in the main menu is not the best score, it's only the last score you done :p

1/ Nice menu, with the map and the car, i love it. (And also the Camera mouvements)
2/ I love all the 4 game modes, it's super nice ! (Can we have an "Endless Mode" ?)
3/ 7 maps and soon two more, that's nice. My favorite is Cyber City and i'd love to see something like SpaceTrip more animated like space comet and planets going on the screen and leaving it.
4/ Combo & Score System is very nice.
5/ I love all the sounds in your game. Engines, boosts / Nitro, horn, MUSICS.
6/ As a reference for more aesthetic stuff / sounds : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GBBQ3LxyZVM&

To Finish : Really love that game. Thanks RewindApp to make aesthetic games.
Also if your description is true and you'r a French 19Yo dev' huge bravos and feel free to awnser me in french if it's easier and faster for you.
Again, i hope the game will have updates and you'll continue to develop it.

Have guys a nice day and drive safely :cleanfloppy:

I'll add to this since I agree with a lot of this and making another thread would just be repeating a lot and for OP I have some tips that maybe will help :lunar2019grinningpig:

1) I have a couple games that don't have FPS caps but I ended up not playing them a lot but for this one, I knew I'd be playing it so I downloaded MSI Afterburner which is meant as an app for overclocking your PC to get like max performance but there's an FPS cap adjustment in there to use. There might be other apps that are made to only cap FPS but I didn't look since MSI to me seemed trusted and legit so I just went with that one.

5) I uploaded my custom binding so maybe you can try that for PS4 controller steam://controllerconfig/1239690/2019301355

I like a lot about the game. I will leave a positive review on it but I'm lazy but I'll get to it soon!

My Suggestions:
==============
An "Auto" Mode - Something like just an automatic drive without any other cars on the road with no score/money. It will just be to appreciate the aesthetic and the music or just to play our own music with the game playing like a screensaver, it would be a really cool chill thing. I honestly would have bought this if it was only that. I wonder if maybe a floating camera could be used too or just different angles during the drive.

Trans Am - The first car is supposed to be a DeLorean which is an iconic 80s car because of Back to the Future and I think another iconic 80s car is the Pontiac Trans Am like from Knight Rider. I'm not a huge car person though so maybe the car is already on the list and I just don't know but it seems like there's some that are similar but not quite right.

Hey buddy,
Thanks for the reply.

I'll try this custom PS4 mapping asap !
About your suggestions :
I'm absolutely hyped by the idea of having an Auto mode, as i'm playing mostly to chill and not to score, i'd like to have the most relaxing experience.
Also a dynamic camera like in Replay mode in Rallys games would be great !

About the cars, i saw yesterday there was an update adding new vehicules. So that's great !

While i'm here, writting a new comment, i would add a new suggestion :
Why not having an incredible "Radio Menu" where you can choose from a audiotape and put it to listen the music.
Like this :
  • We can choose (or choose random as now) the music
  • We'll now which music is currently playing !
  • It'll add a hard 80's vibes to the game !

For real, i'm playing this game everyday since the release, huge fan and hope it'll help that i'm making all thoses feedbacks !

Have all a nice ride :cozydarkseer:

Hey,
For me at this moment only issues mentioned above:
- Lack of controller support (xbox in my case).
- Asking about confirmation when buying item/color. I clicked on the color to see what it looks like on a car, then I noticed that I bought it...

My suggestions:
- add some kind of slider for example to set traffic density on my own after we chose the level
- maybe after the setting montioned above some kind of radio menu to set song / song's order for a level, not necessarily my own music, but that will be also great

Besides that, I really enjoy the game, it's great!
Jinxy Mar 11, 2020 @ 9:26pm
I like these ideas, the radio one would be nice to know which track is playing and to choose specific ones, maybe we might be able to make our own "mix tape" of favorite tracks.

I really like the traffic slider idea and it could also effect rewards. Max would be where it is now because it seems to be full enough as is and that is normal and if you slide it down for less traffic then it's 50% and if you slide it down more it's 25% of normal reward money and if you slide it all the way down to turn it off, that's the sort of free mode i mentioned before with no cash reward because you're just cruising on your own.
Tim Mar 12, 2020 @ 6:08am
Yeah i really like the idea of customisation about the game.
Also if i'm not wrong each maps have its own traffic density, Summer chill is way easier than City or rainy road. But yeah i think score system should adapt to the map and the challenges.

Also : defeat and score menu is a bit impetuous in my opinion. Sound and UI should be a bit smoothed to stay in this calm and relaxing mood.

Thanks guys to make feedbacks and take the time to read all of this, really cool
My feedbacks:
the game doesn't save the score
not all the imput buttons are available for gamepad.

My suggestions:
- a japanese theme map
- some wide curve would be fine
- cars suggestion: Lancia Delta Integrale, Fiat Uno Turbo, Chevrolet Corvette C4, Nissan Skyline GT-R R32, Fiat Croma
- pause button

ciao

I really liked the game. The best ratio of product quality and cost. Nice graphics and well-designed car models . There are a lot of cars and it's cool. Retro music is great. Music makes 80 percent of the game's atmosphere. I repeat, 80 percent of the success of the game is due to the music.

Since I really liked the game, I really want to help in its development. I have a lot of ideas that can be improved or corrected. I'm afraid that there will be too much information in the format of one post.I will present my thoughts gradually-on different aspects of the game.. This is why I will add to my suggestions in the future.

Let's start with the sound in the game. Like I said, the music is great. Here are my suggestions: 1 IN the game settings, we can adjust the volume of music, but there is no setting that allows you to adjust the volume of other sounds in the game.you must add this option. During a trip to the car - the sound of the engine is heard very faintly, it is almost inaudible. 2 inexpressive and uninteresting sounds of a running engine, screeching brakes, tangent collisions of cars. I generally think that the sound of the engine running in all cars is the same. The sound of the engine must be different for different cars. You need to add sound to it, make it juicy and expressive. 3 We are driving along the highway, great music is playing - everything is great. At some point, we crash and the game abruptly stops playing music. This is bad. - This moment very much spoils the whole atmosphere of the game. I suggest that you don't end the music track after an accident, but turn the volume down by half or apply a sound filter to the music ( for example, music playing somewhere behind a wall). After we click the continue button, we go back to the beginning of the level and the music track again picks up its volume. This will better preserve the player's immersion in the game.
I still have a lot of suggestions for the game. I'll add them later.

hi everybody. continue.
The game does not move through the game menu using the keyboard arrows. That is, to select the game mode or settings, you need to use the mouse, it is quite inconvenient. We have to constantly move from the mouse to the keyboard - this is inconvenient. it would be nice if you could control the car in the game and navigate the menu only using the keyboard.

There are three positions of the game camera in the game ( they are switched with the C key). I would like to elaborate on this. View 1 (top and slightly back) - looks great, everything is fine. View 2 (behind the car 1 meter from the road) is normal. on some maps (rainy night, cyber-city) and others similar to them, there is one problem. There are strong highlights of the white pulsing neon light of the Central position of the screen. This is where the road goes into perspective and connects with the sun. Because of this, cars are not clearly visible on the roadway. This may cause an accident because the player did not recognize the other car in time. Disabling the bloom option in the graphic settings saves the situation - visibility improves. But the center of the screen does not disappear completely. This disadvantage must be eliminated. For example, the skyway map - visibility in the distance is excellent, there are no blinding lights. View 3 (from the cab ) the mode itself is interesting. But the implementation of this mode is simply terrible. The dashboard textures are muddy and illegible. The dashboard is the same for all cars. The speedometer and tachometer readings do not correspond to the actual speed. The rearview mirror with 1 static texture of the track is just awful. Ideally , it would be to make some beautiful, detailed and clear backgrounds of the dashboard of the car. Inspiration can be drawn from photos of the dashboards of legendary cars of the 70s and 80s

Continue.
The game has buttons for controlling turn signals, emergency lights, turning on and off the daytime running lights and starting the car engine. Yes-it's interesting for the first few minutes. I played with them for a few minutes and then forgot about them forever. The problem is that these functions are not involved in the gameplay in any way. If it became possible to fit them into the gameplay it would be very cool.
Game interface.
The current position and the form of displaying game data are inconvenient. The current position of information about the speed of the car, the distance traveled and bonuses located on the right in the middle of the screen is very inconvenient. I can't keep track of the road and read information from it at the same time. Sometimes this causes an unfortunate accident. Ideally, it would be possible to develop a small dashboard stylized in the retro style of the 70s and 80s. Place the panel itself in the classic racing position in the lower right corner. It can display the current speed, tachometer, distance traveled and information about bonuses, and other elements.. As an example, I will give the dashboard from the game Power driver 2000. You can think of and style a very large number of dashboard options - if you only wanted to. This would add a lot of atmosphere to the game and increase the players ' immersion. It would be great if each car had its own unique dashboard. If this is difficult to do, you can develop at least three or four options and distribute them to groups of cars.
I noticed the following inconvenience. The game has an acceleration-nitro. But the interface does not display the nitro scale and the degree of its filling. the player can only guess how much acceleration he has in the current situation. Need a scale that would display the level of nitro in the car. it is also unclear the mechanics of filling the nitro scale: the hole is filled over time, or perhaps it is filled if the player is driving at a certain speed (for example, more than 100 kilometers per hour). There is another problem. In bomb mode, the textures and model of the truck are very dark. In fact, I see one large dark spot on the road. the truck's cab, chassis, and wheels are invisible, just a dark spot. You need to make the textures of the truck lighter, perhaps add more bulbs of its marker lights. The upper air spoiler mounted on the cabin is too bulky. it closes too much view of the road - as a result, it becomes difficult to drive the car. It is better to make it smaller or completely remove it.

continue. Some thoughts on game mechanics and game modes. One way mode is a great mode. I like him very much. I spent 70 percent of my playing time in this mode. There is one small problem here. if you play well, this mode never ends. Driving along the highway is interesting for the first 5-10 minutes. After a 15-minute ride , it gets boring. The game does not challenge the player in any way. So you can go indefinitely. I get bored and purposely crash into another car to finish the race and get my money. It would be much more interesting to play short sessions of races of 3-8 minutes maximum. With a time limit for completing a given distance and prizes at the finish. Two-way mode. This mode is more difficult, since you can only drive freely on the right side of the road. On the oncoming lane, cars appear quite often, and after 150 km/h it is better not to go there at all. Oncoming cars appear so quickly that you do not have time to react and always crash. The mode is difficult, there are more accidents, and there are no cool bonuses. This mode needs a distinctive feature that will make it more interesting. Perhaps you need to make the oncoming traffic less dense, then the premium for driving in the oncoming lane will become relevant. Maybe add some bonuses scattered around the track-in General, you need more imagination and imagination. The Time Attack Mode. The mode is interesting. It is very suitable for competing with other players. You need an online table of records of other players. The problem with the mode is that most players, if they don't crash, drive about the same distance of 4.80 - 5.20 kilometers in 100 seconds. That is, the spread of results is very small. This is the main problem. I suggest adding more bonuses and various obstacles to the track to make the results of the race more unpredictable and increase their spread. The further the car went , the more difficult the route should become. For example, bonuses: 1. For each kilometer of the way you can pick up a bonus + 5-8 seconds to the control time. 2. Bottles of nitro are scattered on the highway. If you collect several of them, the acceleration scale will fill up and you can activate the rapid ride. 3. Bonus vip badges, collected several and became available the ability to police flashing lights. You turn it on and for a short time 5 - 10 seconds all the cars on the road avoid you and give way. Other bonuses can be created by yourself. Obstacles on the road. 1 road works - with the closure of one or more lanes. 2. Puddles - loss of stability and wetness of the car. and other troubles. Bomb mode. An interesting mode. Its main problem is that if you drive carefully, it does not end. The bomb is activated at a speed of more than 80 km / h. if you start the game to go slowly 50-79 km/h, the bomb will not even start ticking. This mode needs to add complexity. There are two possible options. option 1: Start counting the bomb at a low speed ( for example, 60 km/h) and gradually over time add the speed of detonation of the bomb + 20 km / h.Gradually adding speed - makes the game more difficult. In the end, the bomb will still explode, the main thing is how far the player will travel before the explosion. Option 2: several control segments are Given and there is a time for which they must be driven. The bomb is counting down to the explosion of the first segment. If the player passed the counter. the segment is quickly given a new time for the second segment, and the time remaining from the first segment is added to the player. After the player passes all the control segments-for a given time interval, the bomb will be defused. If the player does not have time, the bomb explodes. I find both options interesting.

I don't like many of the last suggestions in the last post because they are suggestions for making the game into something more like a racing competition game but i think this is supposed to be more like a cruising driving game. Adding time limits to the first stage isn't a good idea because if I can drive for very long and build a combo for more money, that will help me to unlock more and forcing us to play longer to unlock things because of arbitrary time limits when I could unlock them faster with skill would be a bad game design.

I do agree with making the HUD display closer to the action so we don't have to look away from the road, I think just anywhere on the right side will work because our eyes go all the way to the left then need to scan towards right to read and if the HUD was on the right we only need to glance right and take in the information. I haven't thought of it before but that is probably why many HUDs in games are on the right side, for that reason.

I also agree that Bomb Mode needs more purpose. Just needing to drive fast is kind of funny, like the movie Speed but then after that, there's no reason to keep going. I think the timed checkpoints like SEGA's OutRun are a good idea for this mode.
