The only official way to do it seems to be rebuying it
Steam store page saying something different. Its a steam game now...
Which is what this version is basically but, Ya know this version has steam support
What exactly you think the Steam store says?
"Incorporates 3rd-party DRM: EA on-line activation and Origin client software installation and background use required"
"Requires 3rd-Party Account: EA Account (Supports Linking to Steam Account) (Supports Linking to Steam Account)"
"Requires agreement to a 3rd-party EULA
Star Wars Battlefront 2 EULA"
This makes no sense.
I buy BF2 on steam ---> "(Supports Linking to Steam Account)" <--- Obvious, thats why I did buy it on steam.
If they force people to connect their BF2 steam version to their origin account, I want to link my version to steam as well.
There is no such thing as a steam version. The game still uses Origin, steam is simply the client which will download the origin version to the steam directory so that you can have it in your steam library to play with steam friends. Nothing about the game is steam.
Think of it as an overlay, that's all steam is in this case. You need to be signed into Origin to play this game regardless if you are playing it on steam or on Origin.
Exactly, and thats what I want including the connection to steam cards, achievements, store page and community forum links, news etc. etc. (instead of "steam unknown game connection <-- which it isnt).
Also, I want to start it out of steam and NOT start origin and start it out of that (it should happen automatically)
@Braindead: You dont look like your brain is better then EA ones who did this ♥♥♥♥. Pushing you to buy the softare full-price and to swith to origin but not able to serve the features and advantages of steam, but to greedy to share Idk 30% of income first. Years later: "Oh we did fail, looks like people still stay at steam mostly, man lets ask steam to come back" <--- Sell steam version of the game and do not allow first day supporter of BF2 to connect the game to steam again.
Looks like from now on I have to buy cheap keys if I buy an EA game if you get an ass kick for full price title services related. If EA sucks with such things, they do not earn the full prices until they consider to think about their services to become more customer friendly.
