Will Sonic Frontiers have to be re-rated for animated blood?

Sonic Unleashed was rated E10 here in the US and one of the descriptors was for 'animated blood', which happens during Dark Gaia's transformation into Perfect Dark Gaia.
Supreme's transformation into The End's puppet in Another Story has an animation so similar it's probably a callback to Perfect Dark Gaia, with the arms shooting out of it's jetpack boosters accompanied by a burst of red and black liquid, and even more of this liquid during the Cyloop animation at the end of the Cylooped state when Super Sonic+ snaps his fingers and crushes Supreme's body, causing "blood" to burst out everywhere.
Now the blood in Unleashed was dark green, but this stuff is straight up dark red. So now, in future print runs or if the game gets a "definitive edition" style rerelease with all DLC and updates on the disc, the ESRB and other ratings boards would have to re-rate it with this additional animated blood content descriptor. This actually could present a tricky situation for SEGA, because this blood is in an UPDATE to a game that wasn't rated for blood, only for 'fantasy violence', so they might even get in trouble with various ratings boards, especially in stricter countries like Germany or Australia...

Liquid shooting out of a "character" or enemy, based on it's context and tone, could be blood. A more mechanical robot leaking oil wouldn't be blood, but with the sound effects and animations, the context-obsessed ESRB would interpret this as blood bro.

Sure but the whole argument is "Rated E10."

Also this is the same ESRB that does whatever they want such as the Shadow the Hedgehog game where you were literally shooting realistic (at the time) men with realistic guns in addition to Shadow swearing was only E10+.

This is kinda a stretch, but I'm of an opinion that games shouldn't be afraid of showing a bit of blood.

That's irrelevant, its what the brand is about, they probably want to keep Sonic as a kids franchise so will shy away from blood.

I find it kinda funny how despite that, Unleashed (both PS2/Wii and XBOX 360/PS3 versions) has a G rating here in Australia, which is basically our equivalent of the ESRB's E rating.

I find it kinda funny how despite that, Unleashed (both PS2/Wii and XBOX 360/PS3 versions) has a G rating here in Australia, which is basically our equivalent of the ESRB's E rating. :SonicManiaItemBox:

Different rating systems just have different specific standards. For instance ESRB and Japan’s CERO have opposing strictness on violence and sexualized content.

My friend is a transformers fan, and he told me some of the shows get away with basically robot blood and dismemberment while still getting a kids rating... because ratings companies see robots as an exception! I think in this case, as its technically not blood and coming from a robot, the ratings companies won't care.
