Another Story starting info/questions
Update:
Overall Update 3 is a let down with some asinine design choices
No regular enemies and Cyber Levels only playable with Sonic with weird objectives,
no checkpoints yet if you fail it sends you all the way to the start..
yet the timer doesn't even reset...

"Beta Kronos Map" mod updated for Update 3 adds in regular enemies and adds the first island so you can explore more than just 1/3 an island with the new characters

(NEVERMIND they color coded the dam skill points so you can fight regular enemies with the new characters but only get EXP for Sonic..
they managed to add DK64 BS to this game as well instead of improving it..)

Sega had the chance to make this the definitive Sonic experience and they decided to blow it for multiple updates in a row....
(time to go back to Sonic Classic Heroes, A.I.R. and Generations)

They couldn't even wait a single game before going back to weird choices..

Edit: Some starting info
-Cannot use jukebox for some strange reason.
-Cannot use Sonics unused skill points on the other characters for whatever reason..

-Stay away from boss enemies and look for Kokos with a Pink Ring (color of your character) to get skill points and some basic moves before attempting anything else.
(save up for spindash as it will make getting around much faster and since it's much better than the boost)

-Finishing map challenges barely unlock any part of the map but they do still unlock shortcut grind rails.
(Look for new Map Coocoos as they unlock much more of the map but are also color coded so you can't just glide to all of them as Knuckles)

-You can only switch characters after completing the story.
(they cycle after doing a few objective each otherwise)

-Found Chaos Emerald on a different looking altar but trying to collect it just leads to character falling flat on their face..
(even when being the right characters to match the color of the circle still does nothing..)

-Sonics portion is just more towers with lame challenges that force level 1 and lock away abilities can be won with spamming the same attack/move not "hard" at all just lame..
(even with me using the original player_common file with Sonics original stats without the boost to level 1 stats othewise Sonic would be too weak to complete the challenges within the time limit)

-How to unlock Fast Travel: don't know yet
(uncovered the whole map but 1 map Coco and still don't have it..
but spin dash makes getting around quick which Sonic starts with even if not unlocked in the base game)

-all 3 characters have music with annoying vocals that get's old quick.
(luckily this time for whatever reason the music and vocal files are separate so you can overwrite the vocals with blank wav files so you can actually enjoy the new character music)

Can someone kindly tell me where to go at the start as Amy after the first empty alter?? since doing challenges unlocks only 2 or 3 small blocks of the map
(and the weather keeps rapidly cycling between fog and heavy rain so can't see anything....)

So i can switch to a character that can actually attack since Amy attack abilities are all unlocked with skill points i don't have since i can't use the 400+ skill points i already have unused and since there are no normal enemies only boss enemies that i cannot fight without any combat abilities.....
(never mind all characters attacks locked at the start that they should know but they start with homing attack they shouldn't have?!?!?)

Why doesn't it appear on the map?
(i set my own because it wasn't showing up so i guess that overwrote it ingame..)

The one that is at the Main Ruins in the centre?
(because i already went there and nothing happened....)

i also found an altar with the yellow emerald (not the regular altars)
and when i jump at the emerald Amy just falls flat on her face everytime....
(who designed this crap?!?!?!...)

Also is the weather supposed to rapidly cycle every minute like i mentioned before???

The landscape might be the same but its full of new puzzles so its definitely worth exploring if you want to fully play the characters after the ending.

Yes i know that's not responding to anything i was asking.

That doesn't make exploring the same island twice in a row worth it don't care how you spin it/remix it..
i will not explore the same area again when there are multiple unused islands they could have used and i can't even ATTACK with the first character when Amy carries around a giant ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ hammer it wont let me use...
(that is even usable in classic game 2d games)

i am not wasting anymore time then i have to,
i didn't waste time unlocking anything with the last update i sure as hell aint doing that with nerfed physics now that they ramped up the "difficulty" up to "BS".

The only reason i am trying this update after the disappointing last one is because of the new characters, that's it,
i will try each new character then wait for the modding tools to be updated so i can restore my fun/superior physics and for modders to fix the rest.

if i want to replay the same Sonic game i will do so in a better one that has more than just 4 characters barely playable...

New characters have new skill trees, they did get rid of her hammer for some reason but she can attack.

As for the physics I suggest trying out the new options they implemented last update that basically enable momentum and let's you tweak it.

They also added spin dash last update and with physics settings mentioned above it can break the game in a fun way.

Yes brah i had the game since launch day i am aware and i was even talking to you last update about the new features.
(the physics options barely fix anything my physics tweaks fix a lot more than just a few basic sliders along with the mod that makes the Dropdash much more useful)

But at least she has the Spindash that is far better than the boost and is not locked behind completing everything like Sonic and in the skill tree like it should have been in the first place.
(i mentioned you have to unlock her attacks since she doesn't start with any but like you said all her new abilities are stupid cards instead of her hammer)

Since the Spindash is much faster and makes the game funner i will play as Amy a while longer and just won't use her foor combat since her traversal moves are much better which you would think would apply to Tails or Knuckles...

Had 300 plus skills points unused so i will divvy them up between the 3 characters,
already gave Amy 100 and unlocked the spindash making it much less a waste of time.


Also for the future instead of stating what the game already tells you and what can easily be found out online you may want to mention helpful tips like:
Skill point are given by Koko with a colored circle and they have to be the color of your character to get any
or
that the spindash is so fast it makes exploring much faster
(which i would of already known had they not locked it behind stupid requirements)
or
mention how to unlock fast travel in this dlc, there are no cyberspace levels as the new characters right?

As usual guess i will have to answer most of my own questions, i'll post them at the top for new player also confused by the weird changes they made...

Amy is supposed to get the blue emerald first
The 'next objective' marker should appear during normal gameplay, it has a number that decreases as you get closer to it
If you're stuck at the same one I was stuck at, where it seems like your marker just leads straight into the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ground, that's because the emerald is, indeed, underground. On that big Ancient pyramid, there's actually a door on one side -- you're supposed to find that door and go in there to find the emerald altar.

Because maybe some of us haven't played this game since we 100% the stock game when it came out last year, played/fixed many games since and had to deal with real life stuff since then.

(and like i mentioned the objective didn't show up on the map so i set my own custom one that overwrote it... was also thrown off by the poor choices in locking away basic moves and removing regular enemies replacing them with OP mini bosses)
