So are Sonic fans really mad about the Update 3 DLC, because it's as hard as hell?
I've never tried Sonic Frontiers before, but still I was hoping for this update, that could make Sonic Frontiers even better. I still can't say that Sega and Sonic Team went too harsh, and yeah maybe they messed it up a little, but as for me, it's pretty dumb to complain about the game being too hard. Yeah, the game has some issues and the new characters are both fun and weird to play with, but in my opinion, Sonic Frontiers, at least, tries to stay a good Sonic game enough in the Sonic's franchise. But disliking this game because it's hard, I kinda don't understand that.

I would say because they didn't market it well, it's a free update and we barely got anything about it until the trailer on release day, it was poorly marketed and they didn't communicate with their fanbase

Welp, that's the minus, no disagreements here, still I hope these people will change their minds one day.

Or if we'll get lucky, we'll expect for an Update 4 lol, not a fact though.

honestly i've been having a blast also people kinda brought this on themselves with the difficulty people kept saying it was too easy and even when saga released the koco challenges and extreme difficulty they still said it was to easy. also fun fact half the challenges can be cheesed with amy or tails. unless they are exclusively locked to a character.

After clearing it I can confirm: It is hard as hell, the biggest challenges being: Tower #1, Trial #2, Trial #5 and the Final Boss

Well, as for me, update 3 is fine. Yes it is hard, but still it IS something. One thing that I didn't like, is that they didn't remove Sticks in the ending. But in general, the game is fine enough.

Its really not hard though, after years of auto boost games its just surprising that we actually have to platform in a platforming franchise, its great and reminds me of the peak "actually use your brain" difficulty of Unleashed's DLC. If the health of enemies is too much then drop the difficulty.

I've never played Unleashed before, because I didn't have a console (Xbox 360 or something), but I agree. Still it's weird to be surprised by disliking the update.

People complain when a game is too easy they complain when it's too hard. In fairness it's hard for developers to balance it out so it pleases everyone. You're always going to get those that will complain however that being said this game has gone from one extreme to the next so I can understand people being unhappy.

To be fair you're naturally going to here more complaints because people that get upset will tend to complain about it as opposed to the people happy and quietly enjoying the game.

You're right. It's hard to balance out, still it'll be more terrifying if this game will be as hated as Forces (Not a fact though).

Yeah, they'll still change their minds one day. I really hope I'll like this game, when I'll get a new PC and buy this game. So yeah, peace out.

I'm still at the beginning, but I noticed the obstacle courses are more complex and less automated than in the base game or even the New Koco challenges.

You can play the normal Sonic stages in Sonic Generations with the Unleashed Project and I highly recommend it especially if you enjoyed Sonic Generations.
