Edit 1 (fixed original comment, and found the post talking about it) : He apparently said it on February 20, 2023 on something called Bumblekast. He stated it was also the reason hyper forms haven't been ackownledged since post-Sonic 3 & Knuckles.
I mean that's the thing, if it's Super Sonic infused with cyber corruption then wouldn't it be Cyber Sonic?
Remember how Paramount changed Sonic's CGI when the first movie was in promotion? And that generated so much hype/controversy, basically got people talking about Sonic. And so far, Sonic Frontiers has been leaking so much content, they look completely unable to keep a secret. What if it's on purpose so we're all the more surprised when Hyper Sonic appears? Or it's just to get people talking?
Look, I know some find it jarring, but I don't bloody care, I want my CG. We wouldn't have iconic cutscenes in series if they weren't CG like in Unleashed or 06.
But we'll see soon.
You and maybe Grim are the only people I see who think it's Hyper Sonic when every comment I saw on that teaser is speculating that it's a new kind of transformation (Cyber Sonic) or at the very least, it's just Super Sonic further powered with cyber corruption.
These CG cutscenes look great but how about we have Sonic games that could look just as amazing as CG?
I don't know who Grim is, but I've seen plenty of people speculate on Hyper returning based on this trailer. We could be wrong, but I don't think it's impossible.
That's what people thought it's going to happen in the base game before it even released, which was certainly long before Sega confirmed there'd be post-release content.
I just don't think it makes sense that Sonic could also turn into Hyper Sonic because of cyber corruption when it's established that's the result of the elusive power of Super Emeralds.

Oh, my bad, I thought you where referring to some youtuber I'd never heard of.
I don't know where you're getting these plenty of people from when really most of them on YouTube, Twitter and Reddit are calling it "Cyber Super Sonic" or even just "Super Sonic 2" (like Super Saiyan 2) much more often than "Hyper Sonic".
I mean chances are that Sega is probably just taking notes from Dragon Ball again and doing exactly that, just an upgraded form of Super Sonic that's not specifically Hyper/Cyber Sonic.
