You're clearly exhibiting buyer's remorse and trying to lash out as a way of finding comfort and to justify your purchase. I pity you.
While it's good that Sonic Frontiers is yet to have a PC crack, it's at the cost of consumers having to brunt issues with Denuvo.
Though taking action against it is important, too!
Again, to recap, the narrative being spun in this topic is: Denuvo is bad, but I own Denuvo games, oh but wait, I only own them because they were gifted to me, because they didn't consult me first and didn't know what my position was.... oh but wait they only did it because they know how much I love Sonic, and they actually did "definitely" know my position on Denuvo even though I just told you they might not have. Oh but wait they also gifted me these other non-Sonic Denuvo games. Because no matter what, I can't simply say "You know what? Screw it. I want my games, so I made an exception."
But yes, I'm being unreasonable for regarding this as dubious and amusing. Forgive my skepticism. Carry on with the movement.
Edit 4 days later to say OP now owns this game as well. It never fails. I'm sure their friend gifted it to them, like every other Denuvo game they own, though. So no worries.
I said they didn't consult me on gifting me the game. They already knew I hate Denuvo which is why I didn't already own the games. If they had consulted on whether I wanted them to gift me the games, I could have said no and chosen another game. However, they just gifted them. So I accepted them. My stance against Denuvo had always been clear, and was the reason they were able to gift the games to me in the first place, because otherwise I would have already owned them.
And the other games you are trying to call out are from Humble Bundle. My friend is a subscriber and gifts me one key every month. I don't look up whether the games have Denuvo, I just pick one I think looks the best for that month and that they don't want, and they give it to me. If you check my profile again, you'll see I have no play time whatsoever in MGS V nor Dirt 5.
Go ahead and check through my profile some more. I appreciate the attention you're giving me. I recently purchased a neat new steam animated profile background and love showing it off. As well as my favourite games showcase which shows my 4 fav games on Steam. Do check them out!
Taking action against Denuvo if you really don't want it in gaming is important, but you have to have good reasons for it. The reason I say this is because I've seen some really bad arguments against the use of Denuvo that actually harms the greater cause more than it helps.
One such example was when someone wanted to explain that "it impacts performance" while at the same time announcing that they're refusing to show proof of that because "everyone will believe the results are faked" and I called them out for that as I thought they were either lying or hiding something when they said that.
Know what I mean? Bad faith arguments against Denuvo only makes everyone else against it look bad. While I've seen more bad faith arguments from the opposite side, I've sadly witnessed some from the anti-Denuvo side of things as well.
If you say so. I've long since learned it's futile, don't worry. As I said, carry on.
