I mean I liked the Aparoid Queen in Starfox Assault but Andross is the real antagonist of the Starfox saga like Ganon for the Legend of Zelda.
Heck, since you're bringing up various other Nintendo games, the way Eggman has been handled in the modern games is almost as bad as Andross was from Star Fox Adventures, who only showed up once with no fanfare, buildup or payoff whatsoever.
I mean, let's face it - even after the "twist", we all knew Eggman was going to be the real antagonist in Lost World anyway.
While sure, you could say he became more of a joke after that, he already established himself as a genuine threat that was even shown to the player, allowing us to take him seriously despite the humorous tone they gave him after that and I could see that as him being confident he'll succeed in his plans as opposed to just being a joke of a character for the purpose of comedy.
The handheld games on GBA and DS also established his character really well.
I mean, I still can't get over the fact that Forces resorted to just using a black screen with white text to tell us about Eggman's takeover of the world instead of even trying to show it to us like most of the older games did.
Do you think his robots and weapons would had been so powerful if he didnt have my support?
And also because from all the enemies of sonic he is the best. No one of the other of sonic enemies has a huge army of robots and spaceships like Eggman does.
Having to use a monster of the week that gets beaten by Super Sonic got old too quickly.
Previous games had the villains overpower him to the point where they take over as the new villain, requiring Super Sonic to finish them off. What this person describes sounds more akin to something like Zelda Majora's Mask where the Skull Kid uses an evil mask he stole from the Happy Mask Salesman, using it to do all kinds of horrible things until Link vanquishes the mask itself restoring the Skull Kid back to his former self.
While I'm not sure if I like the idea of this for Eggman, it'd probably be a cool idea to see this for either an existing ally character we don't get to play as, or a brand new character that develops and learns from this experience. Which was something Colours didn't even try with, as Tails gets possessed for 5 seconds and is never brought up again like it never happened.
Because his nega Wisp power was depleted but the Armor was a more perfectionned version of it and he planned to enslave the entire population of Mobius.
I doubt Sonic could fight Tails.
Thanks. The reason I thought of eggman is because he has so much power and resources, and if he were essentially a different person then I imagine him being able to use those resources in a much different way. That could mean almost anything for story and level ideas. And again thats just a random 10 second idea, Im sure better ideas can come from professional writers over the span of months or years.
It could even lead eggman to reconsider his own practices and behaviors after the fact and start to have a knock on effect on his later strategies and plots in newer games, though maybe he'd be too proud for that.
(memories flood with "You're too slow!" memes ad nauseam)
Pingas.
Eggman has always been threatening and he always had a goofy side to him. I like Eggman, specially in Adventure. So long as this Eggman is the same or follows a similar style I'll be happy.
