How does Crafting work?
Title says it all. Nothing anywhere really describes this mechanic, and i'd really like to know as I suspect it's how you get the best of the best equipment.

You buy Crafting Books and drop Materials on the Books in your Inventory. Also in Towns (with Blacksmiths) you can drop Equipment on the Furnace to get the Material back.
Okay, that's simple enough. What about things like Triggers?

Also, is there a list of what crafting recipe's and what they make available somewhere? Like, can I make triggers myself? I'd really like to make better parrying daggers for my Shiftcloak that i've invested so heavily into.

No you can't make Triggers yourself (as far as i know) but they are sold in Shops sometimes (and some of them infinite amounts). For a List....mh i don't know one but in general: every Weapontype is avaiable as Craftingbook.

So you just drop triggers onto your items, and that attaches them? I've come across an anvil (maybe that was the forge?), what does that do? I have a broken set of armor, how do I fix that? Thanks!

If an item is made using the crafting kit, you can craft it in your inventory by dragging the raw material (wood, iron, bone, steel, mithril, some more exotic items) onto the kit while they are in a character’s inventory. Only the raw material is consumed, so you can use the kit to craft as many items of that type as you want.

There are other items that can be combined without a kit. As far as I can tell, you must combine them by dropping them both on the anvil. An example is a hood and cloak can be combined to make a hooded cloak that you wear together in one slot. There is a guide in the steam guides section that provides a nearly complete list of the things you can craft.

Dropping items on the forge will destroy the item and return the material. So crafting is reversible. You can make a mithril sword now and destroy it later to make mithril armor.

Triggers cannot be crafted but if you put a weapon on the anvil a box will open above it. You can drag your triggers into the box to equip them. Most weapons take one trigger. I think maybe Vorskarn weapons can use two at once.

There are some items that cannot be created or destroyed. Sadly I believe your parrying daggers are among them. As far as I can tell, if the item doesn’t show its material in its name (bone dagger, iron shield, etc) then it is not part of the crafting system.

You do not need an anvil to combine these items. You can drag an item on its combinable counterpart and they should automatically craft the new item. Anvils are only used for upgrading equipment. They used to be necessary for crafting weapons and armors, but this game changed that .

Aha! I just dragged the Repair Tools over to my broken armor, and it used one tool (gone from my inventory) but my armor is now fixed. Neat!
