Social Club login failed

when i start the game it says social club login failed what do i do?

I have a wonderful fix for this...you can play multiplayer as well :)......backup paul.dll to another folder...and delete the one on your folder.....install the 1070 patch..and a new paul.dll should in your folder...now launch the game...and keep trying 10 - 15 times...i am sure you will get soon enough....as soon as its done...go INTO A MULTIPLAYER SESSION and RENAME THE PAUL.DLL as "paul.dll.disabled"(without quotes).....now you are relieved from R* problem and you will be logged in forever....u dont need to even enter your password ! just click on gta 4 icon and happy Multiplayer And Story Mode Gameplay :) Enjoy !

There's a less complicated way. First, go login to RGSC on the website. Then, link your GFWL account to it. Then you can simply delete paul.dll or make it paul.dll.disabled and RGSC is not needed anymore.

3. Change the following files to 'Run this program as an administartor' and 'Compatibility mode in Windows 7':

4. Open the RGSC folder and open the RGSC.exe
5. Re-enter your Social Club credentials correctly.
6. The spam clicking the 'Play' button for approximately 3-4 minutes
7. Once in a Multiplayer session, minimize GTA IV and change the 'paul.dll' file to 'paul.dll.disabled'
8. Now you should be able to Multiplayer each time you load the game normally.

HOLY ♥♥♥♥, I was high and recently purchased this game, couldn't find a single fix after 2 hours of trying for this Social Club ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ when suddenly, I fixed it by complete accident.

Try putting your SOCIAL CLUB username instead of your email, then keep spamming Play. It worked for me. My research however, suggests I delete paul.dll when I finally get Social Club working so I don't encounter that ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.

EDIT: I logged into Games For Windows Live before starting GTA IV. Deleting paull.dll after successfully logging in fixes the bug, however make sure you keep paul.dll out of the folder and do not update the game or verify game files, because as of right now... I'm still struggling to get back into Social Club because I ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up when installing LCPDFR.

Found a fix for Windows 10, not sure if some of you are still trying to play GTA4 but I`ll leave this for anyone else who experienced the problem.

!! TIP: If you're a Win 7 user: Try using the same steps while using Compatibility mode for Win XP SP3 instead of Win 7 as menioned below.

1) After installing GTAIV from Steam, download & install Games for Windows Live client from here: http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkID=201134

2) Right-click on the GFLW client installer and go into Properties; make sure its set to run in Compatibility mode for Windows 7. Then proceed with the install. Open GFLW (making sure it runs in Compatibility mode for Windows 7) and check if it atleast lets you login with your LIVE credentials.

3) Go in your GTAIV game folder and rename "paul.dll" to "paul.old" (this will temporarily bypass Social Club login in order to allow you to register your GTA4 on LIVE). Also make sure your "GTAIV.exe" is set to Windows 7 Compatibility.

4) Start GTAIV the usual way (using LaunchGTAIV.exe), you should be able to get to the main menu. Once in the main menu, click on LIVe. This will hopefully bring down the LIVE dashboard, login with your LIVE account and follow the instructions & allow LIVE to apply updates.

5) After LIVE updates itself, exit the game. Now, download the GTAIV game patch from here: http://updates.rockstargames.com/patches/gtaiv/title_update_7_EN.zip
Once again, make sure the installer is in Compatibility mode for Windows 7, then proceed.

6) The patch should update and create a new "Paul.dll" in the GTAIV directory. Attempt to startup GTAIV normally now. If RGSC still refuses to login, follow additional steps. If not, enjoy!

7) IF YOUR RGSC STILL DOESN'T LOGIN:
Backup your "Paul.dll" file, then delete it. Login to Steam-> Library -> right-click on GTAIV -> Local Files -> Verify Integrity of Game Cache. Steam will re-download "paul.dll" for you. Launch GTAIV thru "LaunchGTAIV.exe" and your RGSC login should now work.

8) The login may not work next time for no specific reason. I got tired at that point and renamed "paul.dll" to "paul.old". This skipped the RSGC login yet still allowed me to login to LIVE and MP still works (I can create games, yet I haven't found any or tested if my friend can join yet)

Let me know if this works for you as well and maybe we can get this to other Win 10 users.
