How do I beat the last mission?
You genuinely cannot get onto the helicopter at the end of the final mission! What do I do?

if you jump on helicopter and Niko cant get on, you must open task manager, go to details find gta 4 right click on it set affinity just on one core, when you get back in game it will work in 10 fps but you will get on helicopter, then set affinity to all cores and play normaly

Damn, I though that I'm having the Skill Issue on Helicopter moment on the Last Mission.
So this problem can be solved by Limiting FPS, like the Old GTA Games that runs on RenderWare Engine.

Get Fusion Fix and limit the game to 30 FPS.

you need to limit your FPS to 30. i believe you can do this by putting "-frameLimit 30" without quotes in launch options in GTAIV's properties in steam.

Off topic but is this the only instance you need to lock your fps?

Yes, I'm pretty sure this was the only situation in my whole playthrough. Though you should always cap GTA IV at 60 FPS, not higher.

Why are you being so rude & negative? It's just a simple question dont gotta pile on me. Also, why would they keep it up if it was buggy and a mess? Just because it's old doesn't mean anything, buddy.

Damn, I thought 2008 was 14 years ago. Time does fly.

Just turn on Vsync and maybe put the game on 60Hz

I've had the same problem and I thought I was too retarded at first.

Tried this and it worked for me, I changed it back afterwards.

I was pretty surprised to find that in year 2023 the problem is still here, few times tried to finish mission on steam deck, and on a moment then you need to press A game start glitching and mission failed. What a nice experience to find that game is unplayable on last mission tho. :steamfacepalm:

Dude,
1. The problem will exist forever, it is a difference in old hardware and new.
2. There are solutions that work just fine.
3. Dont necro threads. There are at least 5 newer threads on this exact topic.
