another method i have seen is to quickly plow through to the first boss kill it then quit out, rinse and repeat, the downside is that it will be boring but efficient.
But the best method i personally know of is only available in reincarnation difficulty, which is to put it on endless and casually steam roll through everything (only hard part is the early game and then your gold) you can even put lone wolf on which supposedly makes the game harder but in exchange you get to pick a spiritual blessing of your choice which actually makes it way easier
Awesome thanks!
Reincarnation 9 is MUCH harder rofl.
A single Painkiller blessing and any elemental damage source, which renders almost every enemy unable to attack and slowly dying no matter how much my damage sucks... says otherwise.
Or maybe I could just stick to a weaker +1000% damage blessing, free buffs from linking scrolls, forcing penalties onto enemies, virtually free buffs from doing simple missions, free buffs from recycling scrolls and making ascensions more consistent by removing ones I don't want if Painkiller is too much.
But I would still say reincarnation is way harder just dont use bizzare dream modifiers. Painkiller is broken yes but its not going to make the run free for you.
Reincarnation in general allows enough features and significant power boosts that it is a step down from nightmare despite being portrayed as a higher difficulty level. We are also talking to someone who is struggling with clearing a difficulty so trying to inflate an entirely different difficulty is irrelevant and useless.
Nona is also pretty good since you have owl. She is immediately powerful and can play much more defensively. Owl has a hard time getting the ball rolling. Most other heroes can perform fine, 90% of the difficulty in this game is in the stage 1 tomb so anybody that can fare pretty well there is going to be a-okay. Nona is the most practical at this, she doesn't quite scale to the moon late game like everybody else but if you're just looking to clear nightmare you can't really go wrong with her melee mech/missile spam builds.
I highly recommend going back to the inn after beating boat/snake if you're just looking to get past the nightmare filter. Essence comes in droves when you hit reincarnation because it's used as currency in that game mode so if you can manage it, I would recommend getting to r1 at least.
As for your current talent levels, the 60's have some important ones like recycling. Benevolence is good if you play with other people. Exclusive inscriptions can make weapons much more interesting to use. I don't have a reference for your hero talents but they tend to peak at the 4th upgrade and the 5th tends to be a small but nice bonus to have if you have essence to spare.
transfer host by quitting game in correct order and then some.
False
Nightmare is MUCH harder rofl.
Nothing should even come close to down you if you play safe and correct.
How you guys consider nightmare to be harder or hard at all is beyond me.
Here is my latest run with Owl on nightmare classic -100% damage reduction btw and I think I got hit maybe twice in the whole run...
