You can not be oneshot if you have all the talents. One of the talents does exactly this — prevents oneshots.

dying in one hit and dying in 2-3 consecutive hits landing around the same time is functionally the same thing

Difficulty in this game is super weird. I found Elite to be the hardest one. You dont level up quickly enough on Normal, and dont have the unlocks you need to make solid builds. But then by Nightmare I was a higher level with more scrolls and weapons available and didnt notice the difficulty increase, and then Reincarnation throws everything out of the window by giving you so many tools to become overpowered that it becomes easier than Normal? Your essence skyrockets up to earning 1500 per game and you quickly hit max rank and become unstoppable. Only R9 is tough and thats only because every enemy gets individually buffed.

It took me about 40 hours of game time before beating Nightmare, and then I beat every Reincarnation up to 9 in a single streak. R9 took 3 attempts.

The way this game locks 90% of the content behind playing nerfed versions of the game is very strange.

I personally wish they introduced the more helpful stuff like Spiritual Linking, The Vault and the other one I cant remember at Elite then you work up to the harder ones.

I personally was stuck in Nightmare for idk how long cuz the first area would just plow you down and I couldnt really farm up stock or builds to keep on going but once I beat Nightmare... i got to R8 in like 4 hours cuz i am a Slow player in this game.

Just... crazy imo.

You only realistically get one shot (or 2-3 consecutively shot) on the high Reincarnation levels, where enemies have a significantly higher damage multiplier. High Reincarnation levels are completely optional if you just want to play for fun.

Play on Reincarnation 1 to 3 if you want to enjoy not getting one shot. Pick Overconsumption as well if you want to near guarantee you don't get one shot.

I still dont think the difference between Nightmare and R1 should be that big. you go from having no options to all of it.

Well, there's a lot of advice I "could" give, but the first area is by far the hardest on every difficulty. Your move speed is garbage at the start, dash cooldown is long, got no items and it's full of narrow hallways. Even on R9 once you hit the desert it feels insanely easier imo. Use a pistol (the kunai are all good) as a first weapon so you don't get slowed too much and it's nowhere near as bad. If you toggle all the settings in reincarnation it's also far easier, especially the lone wolf one. You just put that and pick the one that puts all element debuffs when you apply one, bring an elemental weapon or play as Li and it's a cake walk. If you play Nona you can probably just hide and let the robot handle everything early on as well I would think.

I also did notice that if you take the shield thingy as your choice for season 2 and equip the... Whatever it's called, there's 3 and you can only have one. Put the middle one that turns it into an attack. That thing is cracked, I was killing bosses in 2 or 3 hits with it. Doubt anyone would struggle with the game if they were using that the whole time.

As someone that has beaten Nightmare under 20 minutes and regularly plays Reincarnation 9, half of those mechanics being unlocked for those difficulties would make them even easier (specifically Spiritual Blessings)

Part of the fun about Reincarnation+ is that once you master the "highest" vanilla difficulty an entire new world of mechanics (and pain) is unlocked for you, games like Hades with the optional difficulty sliders that unlock.. nothing at all are imo ♥♥♥♥ implementations of meta progression in these kinds of games.

I totally understand that it could be frustrating if you get filtered by Elite/Nightmare mode, at first the movement felt like ass and the bosses wrecked my ♥♥♥♥ constantly until i realized dashing wasn't meant to be spammed but strategically used to dodge enemy attacks the second they land.

Just keep trying, it'll eventually become easy as pie.

This is kinda a hard option because, on the one hand, you have mechanics that make the game easier and more enjoyable, but on the other hand, you have mechanics that limit progression. Having blessings early on will most likely be detrimental to a player's progression because you earn significantly fewer souls. Players without much experience will end up using a significant portion of their souls on blessings instead of talents without seeing much of a return.

Early reincarnations are easier than nightmare. You should be doing fine.

It not even that it hard, it just you need to not be stuck with bows for most of the damn run. and get Scrolls that arent like "bonuses shock dmg" from RNG.

This. This comment right here! Reincarnation 1 is like a casual mode. not brain dead easy, but, getting to reincarnation is harder than reincarnation...I'll give you that
