Unless of course you're playing on any of the new higher difficulties, somehow without using any of the stuff that got buffed. Or without having learned how to deal with act 1 enemies with your 900+ hours of experience. In which case it's 100% your fault that the game still mysteriously kicks your ass.
I suggest lowering the difficulty. You'll find that you won't hate the game as much when you're not getting stomped by higher difficulties.
A mode like this literally goes against the spirit of the genre. The only game I've ever seen do it is Risk of Rain 2, and even then, it seems like most high-tier players consider it 'cheating' in a sense, and I know that I personally don't find it as fun.
It's no fun being broken when you follow a formula to get there, time and time again. A delicacy ceases to be a delicacy when you can have it all the time.
Beaten Reincarnation 8 many times, We've been trying 9, but the amount of straight up garbage weapons & even more so for scrolls bloating the pool, is just insane...
it goes against the spirit of roguelite yes, but who give a ♥♥♥♥ if its for your own enjoyment or have unlocked literally everything?
that's what I mean more, and for everyone telling me to play a lower difficulty, that defeats the purpose of seeing if a build COULD even be viable on a high difficulty, I've played long enough that the RNG isn't whats fun about the game anyone, the builds I enjoy, or the builds I'd want to test are what I enjoy, and when you functionally waste two hours in the first zone, just trying to get the ascensions you wanna test, it can be rage inducing,
The game is still fun, it still is great to play with friends, i just want a mode, where if I want to play a very specific run, its possible, even if that means I'd need to grind up soul essence in other difficulties. There are ways to balance the idea, maybe each ascension itself would cost soul essence, there is plenty of potential for what i want. However, to make sure everyone feels heard, just know I am about to do a reincarnation 1 run and vibe out to some music.
Also, I refuse to believe you have 1000 hours in this game. Unless you only played the alpha or something. I have 250 hours in this game and at this point, it feels super easy. I can consistently beat reincarnation 9 (with one friend) every time, and it will feel easy the entire time.
You can break Risk of Rain 2 without making any non-standard game-lobby choices. All you have to do is find the gate that takes you to the reliquary, plug in the code for the "enemies drop items on death" and AFK in the right spot.
You get literally infinite items.
So yeah.
That artifact is cheating.
uHm, aCTUHALLY it's a RogueLITE
