When it says. "using only snipers / Foundry" does that mean only shooting or only carrying and shooting?

Been practicing for this in Elite mode, came across this at start where I open the green chest before Longling Tomb and I get 3 weapons none of which are snipers.
Wondering if I can carry one without shooting it to discard later for gold.

I've heard that you can carry non-snipers as long as you never shoot them

As long as the weapon does not deal dmg you can have non-sniper weapons.

As another tip for this, I recommend doing your real run on Reincarnation 1. Not much of a difference over Nightmare in enemy damage and HP, but you get a lot of extra assistance with the Spiritual Blessings and enhanced scrolls / weapons.

I focused on weapon damage in general. Picked the "you get 0.3% weapon damage when you kill an enemy from something something meters away" upgrade and by the time I was at the bear, I had like 400+ stacks of it (120%+ weapon damage). I did it on Reincarnation 1 so it's easy since I had access to Soul upgrades. 20% Enhanced Scroll chance helped a lot by converting some weapon damage scrolls.

Took me like 3 runs (and a bunch of restarts to get the right starting perk) to get the achievement. I was generally using Bloody Drill and Sting. I didn't even bother picking up other weapon types and just recycled them. Sting is a Sniper but works great at any range due to alternating fire mode, you can just yolo the entire run with it.

For Ascensions, I went for whatever had Weapon Damage on it to make my weapons even stronger than they already stupidly were. Storm Blast (150%/225%/300% extra DMG for the first shot that hits an enemy during [Fatal Current]) is a decent one, for example.

Bosses are not a big deal as long as you stack absurd amounts of weapon damage.

Yeah, that one is a solid blessing for sure. Not mandatory to complete the achievement.

I did it with Lightning Messenger, Thunder & Glory, and Skill Freak. My primary was a +24 bloody drill (only had 3 inscriptions, then gemini for critx), which did 23.7mil (32% of my total) damage. My offhand was another bloody drill :P

Building for buffing chain lightning is so, so easy. There are so many ascensions that do something with chain lightning. Chain on crit? Done. Chain during primal roar? Done. More damage, more charges? Done. There's all kinds of occult scrolls taht boost skill damage too.

Try using 2 Strike Wings in CritX Gemini config and just level one - gets pretty insane.

Current Elite run for training, I have a Piercing Flame paired with Talisman set to Corrosion. Both have Weapons Share Element Types Gemini.

I only shoot the sniper but get both Fire and Corrosion off shot for Combustion Fusions sometimes.

Finished Fjord, just Jokul left.

Hardest runs are where at beginning I get no sniper until I come across a Peddler with one.

You should aim for shared elements with a different weapon than the Talisman. Your chance of inflicting decay is tied to the elemental effect chance on the talisman which is a base of 10%. If you use an aura venom you'll get 40% chance to inflict decay or you can use a prism which has a base chance of 30%. This way you will have a higher chance of inflicting combustion.

Note: There is an inscription that gives the aura venom 80% chance to inflict decay.

Yeah, Talisman isn't great for elemental chance. Flowing Light (the lightning sword) is the best for that gemini, because it's base chance (before inscriptions) is 50% and it can get the "chance to inflict effect increased by the base value" inscription (getting it up to 100%).

My first two attempts ended against the boss. The first was about half-way, the second failed just after the DPS check (just barely failed). Third attempt was a success.

But now that you have a build plan, repeating it should work out after a few more attempts.
