Statistiche:
Sword damage is too low
Sword damage is too low compared to guns in the game. It's much easier to shoot from a safe distance than have to be close range on enemies especially since the swords don't scale with damage as well as the guns do. It would be better if swords did more damage so it would be worth the risk of getting up close to enemies and bosses.

Swords dont really need to aim tbf. so it's not like they need to be stronger than snipers which require precise aiming. Melee is weaker than guns in most shooters i played like in half life 2, crowbar weaker than guns. tf2, melee weaker than guns unless youre hte spy

I most of the time play swords with the bird and while I agree that they are usually not as broken when it comes to scaling compared to other weapons and characters, I do think they are in a fine spot.

I would personally love a melee focused character for melee weapons since the bird is more about shotguns. However I think he is fine with them too.

The only thing I really would love them to adjust is the range. against certain bosses (golem, chimera and the ship boss in stage 3) I do feel the range is a bit small and it tends to be really hard to hit them, even when you are basically as close as you can be. I would like at least against those bosses for the melee weapons to have a bit more range to be able to actually reliably hit them.

Other than that, the melee weapons are fine and would mostly benefit from a character that is focused around them (maybe a character that can dual wield melee weapons? As in, his primary skill skill gives him 2 energy blades which he can do attacks with, but if he has a melee weapon equipped his primary skill would give him a copy of his melee weapon). Or any character really being focused around melee.

Overwatch was another clown fiesta by itself.

Just looking at how Mercy was handled from release till like 3 years later. The problem was her ability to revive characters, easily. What did they decide to change? Some other random crap which did nothing at all when it comes to that issue...


But that's another story.


The "issue" is less about swords being worse, it's that there is barely anything affecting their scaling and inscriptions are barely helping them out, or even are worse than most other inscriptions other weapons have.
Sword damage is broken. Especially the fire sword. I just did Resurrection 7 difficulty and did 98.5 million damage on that win with the new character. So much fun.
Lmao lotta folks don't know how to build for their characters.. tao and yang work great with swords..almost op..

a lot of the time, yes actually. since we only get a choice from 3 random ones, often times there's none that are beneficial to the build.
I think swords would be more fair if they could hit crits if your cursor is on the enemy head. Then it would reward skill and precision and have more damage potential to a single target while still retaining the aoe for crowd control

this is something I would support which would deal with multiply issues at the same time. But instead of "head" I would like to make it "weakpoint", as not every enemy has their head as the weakpoint.

Well, if you read my post about possible ascension perks affecting sword damage... yes, with 3 possible choices for ascension per pick your chances on getting a single one helping your damage with swords is actually really low.

yeah that's what I meant, crit hits work on weakpoints which are heads most of the time but not always.
