Sky is the limit, need tips
hello! i figured i could ask here since im quite close to just give up on this achievement. either i jsut get bad runs or i end up having good stuff only to die in the desert (seriously, what is up with the snipers headboxes, they dont even exsist sometimes) or i get insta gibbed in the djungle (usually the room where there is mobs lined up next to each others).

dmg for me is usually not a issue but i have problem surviving, i tried bird meele build ( i havent managed to get it to work due how anti meele bosses are and its near suicide to get into meele in this game in general), the tiger i had most sucess with but ran into issues that either not being able to clear fast enought or get a boss like the wind one.

i know this achievement isnt for everybody and im definetly not the best player out there but i do tend to enjoy doing all achievements for games and since i managed to do elite achievement i figured id be able to do nightmare aswell but atm i just feel stuck and demotivated and id appreciate any tips i can get.

Trying to do the same thing imo the key is you want to make it easy on yourself since you need to kill stuff fast enough to have a shot at the 30m mark so just go on runs up to the first boss and if you don't have an imba combo going just restart. Sooner or later you'll get a great combination going that should give you a good shot at getting the chievo in time.

You don't need to do every vault.
Once you feel strong enough, stop doing vaults. Every vault you enter can add minutes to your run.

That too for my elite run I didn't do any vaults after the desert stages. All depends on how well you are doing but you can't cut corners until you know you got a good combo going that can clear the stages fast enough.

learn which vaults takes a few seconds to clear, cat is probably easiest to speed run, just get decent lightning weapon (pref thunderclap with gemini share element with thunder sword for super miasma procs)

don't stop to recall scrolls and weapons, they take ~2sec each, which adds up to valuable minutes by the end. pray for a decent run, where you don't have to defend the cube, as it takes up a lot of time. early on always go for good defensive scroll combos, like lifesteal+shield to hp convert, or shield recharge on dash+double shield. usually I aim for 8min/zone, which is quite possible to be done with lucky scrolls. if you have no luck with them, desert can be finished around the 20min mark. if you have adequate damage it is possible to push through the last zone in 7-8ish minutes if you dont do portals.

While solo is certainly possible, keep in mind you DO have enough time to do this coop if everybody is on the same page and you avoid the later vaults. You lose time when selecting ascensions or shopping, as menu time only pauses in Single Player. But you get to play far more aggressively in MP, and that can make up the difference in the end.

Also getting Cube in MP can be beneficial; let it explode and one of you sacrifices their self-revive to get everybody else back up and save a couple minutes instead of defending it.

i see, thanks for the tips. my current issues atm is i have hard time surviving stuff (snipers, the flamethrowers, shutgun guys on desert, sharks are a royal pain aswell but i never get to stage 3 trying to speedrun nightmare for the achi so that stage isnt a issue of yet)

Yeah good stuff closest I've gotten so far is 34m on the bird but I wasn't doing amazing damage either.

I just got it today in after 4 tries with bird just under 29 mins.
It is such a dice roll that you hope to get stuff.
The stage layout, the vaults, mini-bosses and bosses, so much can go wrong...
I manage to get the demonlore combo early but ditched it halfway when I saw a porcupine with damage increase per elemental trigger with elemental spread. It helped me so much because I was so behind (Cleared desert under 22 mins).
Hydra being the final boss instead of boat is a real blessing.
I stop doing vaults half way the desert stage when I was running out of time.
The reason I failed a few of my runs is because I was too much in a hurry that mobs spawned on me, including suiciders.

Scrolls you want to prioritize are like any scroll that helps with mobility, damage (penetrating bullet saves so much time), helps with reloads (advance depot, flow, etc.) and some survivability. Grabbing a sword can help you move fast too.

honestly i should just probably bite the bullet and realise i suck ass at this game, either i die early on (thanks to the snipers) or i get rekt by some bs in late desert/early djungle

All I can say is that it takes practice. Also sometimes you just have to play risky to become better at the game. Be aware of your surroundings and if there are snipers stay out of their view. My tip on flamethrowers is to not run away from them unless there're are a ton of mobs. Get in their face and strafe, they can't hit you when they're shooting fire. Before heading into nightmare I recommend speed running normal mode a few times to get more comfortable, then move up to elite and so on.

Not really. This achievement has a 1% completion rate. It's very hard to achieve for the average player.

Bird is the best character to get solo runs as his scaling and survivability aid you immensely; his abilities are strong early in the game (tombs) but become lackluster near the end. This is fine as you will want to have a broken build by that time anyway. Other characters struggle to get fast times especially in the tombs.

My strategy is to take all portals in the tombs, and none in any of the other biomes. If you get a "Defend the zeal" event you can just give up immediately as it'll hinder you to degrees you rarely get to make up for. Other terrible spawns include the large platform room. Because things scale pretty hard in Nightmare you will want to go with a meta build rather than trying to be quirky; go for Hail of Bullets with a Wild Hunt if possible, but make sure to stick to the good shotguns whatever happens. Don't pick terrible ascensions like additional ability damage. They can work, but require way more effort to enable than the more consistent ones. Generally speaking you also want one of the broken defensive scrolls like Spirit Feline or Lightless shield; both should trivialize taking damage if remotely careful.

This achievement does require you to high roll scrolls, but if you know what you're doing not nearly as much as you might believe.
