Still not the creator.
hint: it's in the name.
without 3d realms there would be no max payne so shut the ♥♥♥♥ up
They still didn't create it.
Producing and creating are not the same thing.
Unprovable, and hence a worthless statement to make. You have no way of knowing that Max Payne would not have been picked up by another producer.

You didn't actually read that article, did you?
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Max_Payne_(video_game)
You know what I don't see on the wikipedia article for any of the Max Payne games? A developer credit for 3D Realms. That's because they didn't develop any of them. They just produced - that is, signed the checks to fund - the first two games. That's all.
A producer does not actually develop.
Max Payne was created and developed entirely in-house by Remedy.
Remedy shopped max payne around and no one was willing to invest in there studio besides Mike Miller. The game literally would not have been made. Same for Decent.
Disregarding producer's role as "just bunch of dudes who are willing to give money" is stupid, they literally control the creative process. The are, part and the core of the creative process.
I know that it's easy to vilify them as they are the ones who could force directors to choose a commercial friendly route to make project an easy money product. However they are also the ones that encourages or bring experimental idea to the director, which probably was the case for Max Payne as it was a very unique game for its time.
They didn't make Prey either, for the same reason, and I personally wouldn't use Prey as a shining example of things 3D Realms produced either (it was mediocre by every definition of the word).
Noting that 3D Realms didn't produce those games officially either, it was the two founders of the studio that did.
Prey 2017 was developed by Arkane and is a completely different game from Human Head.

Same goes for Prey (2006)
the 3D Realms logo is on the cover.
