Completely agree.
If EA wants to remaster that, they'll have to do it on their own. Don't think any of Petroglyph were involved and they shouldn't.
I enjoyed Generals, but it's C&C only in name to boost its sales.
As for the Generals 2 this user has been asking/spamming every damn thread about. It's on the garbage pile outside of what was EA LA, and that's where it will remain.
Red Alert 2 and Tiberium Sun on the other hand are very possible. So is a brand new game to reboot the series after the remastered originals.
While it has nothing to do with the lore, if you think about it, red alert is also its own lore with fan theories about how it connects. Generals / ZH remains my fav CnC game because of the sheer lol factor. CnC was always cheesy and Generals brought that to the modern age. Also if you think about it, flashbanging angry mobs in the middle east in 2003 is quite timely.
Nope, ain't gonna happen... and it shouldn't.
First, the license has expired so the license would have to be rebought again in order to do it, and they're not going to get such a license JUST to make a remaster, even if they could; the last time the Herbert estate was asked by a fan about remastering the Dune games, his anser was, "No, everything old should stay old."
But on top of that Dune II is too archaic; the GUI is fundamentally so broken, there's no point in remastering it; on top of that, the missions are all completely generic, with nary a story, and briefings is just text. Dune II required a remake in the 90s, and it got that remake in the guise of Dune 2000.
If anything of the Dune series should get a remaster it's Dune 2000, not Dune II.
Screw Generals, Generals is ♥♥♥♥; there's also another two games released before that; name Tiberian Sun, and Red Alert 2; two iconic legendary games, arguable even more classic that the games in this first collection. The next C&C remasters should thus be a Volume 2 containing TS and RA2.
