Generals 2 or remake or dont bother.
Yeah what I've learned is remasters are just cash grabs in the end nothing more. What I would prefer is an actual "New" sequel to previous games that lives up to it's predecessor and is made just as good with even more content. Sadly companies don't do that any more. They're taking the hollywood/movie industry approach where they want to pump out the same old garbage remakes every few years to make easy money... The gaming industry is becoming stale with these remakes.
Generals was a fun game, but Red Alert 1 & especially 2 blows it out of the water. General's isnt even a real c&c game... workers and bulldozers ffs!
Yeah didn't think about that but you're right. Today's society/generations wouldn't be able to handle such a game and if it was ever to be made the developers/publishers would easily cave in to their demands. Which would butcher the game...
Just have it so Isis, i mean the GLA sorry, are funded by Israel and the CIA and the American Democrats. Could have a really ♥♥♥♥♥♥ low tech tree that gets some really top tech at the end.
As for factions for a modern C&C Generals 2 game they could be:
China, North Korea, Penal Hong Kong.
Nuclear India
Free Pacific States: Japan, Taiwan, Worst Korea.
Zionist Axis: Isis, Israel, Saudi Arabia.
Russia, Balkans, Iran, Alaska.
Young Lions: Great Britain, Australia, Greenland, Iceland, Norway.
New Socialist Federated Europe: Led by Germany of course.
American Isolationists: Right Wing Apple Pie America, The Army, Marines, Rangers, Special Forces, normal people.
American Communist Globalist Regime (Bernie + Hillary Nightmare political Establishments, Hollywood, Big Media, Big Pharma, Rogue Military Industrial Complex + CIA) + Canada + Mexico
Free Democratic South Americas, led by Brazil.
This is a "testing the waters" product exactly to see what kind of interest is there still in C&C.

Hm let's see.
EA closes down Westwood.
Then pushes out Generals, which has NO connection to the C&C franchise other than having "Command & Conquer" slapped on the box. Literally slapped on the box.
They have the balls to literally slap C&C on the box of a generic but well made RTS game which has no connection at all to the series, that is its prequels.
Im not gonna argue, its a damn fine game, its hella fun ( i played it tons of times) but its NOT a C&C game. Its very generic and built on the standards set before, the "General powers" reminds me alot of the Warcraft 3 heroes abilities instead in this case its given to you as a player, directly.
Im not gonna argue, that's the part i liked most, i loved it in Warcraft 3 but i hate the fact that the overall feel, the story, the sound effects, music, nothing stands out, its *just there*.
The Frank Klepacki soundtrack, the C&C gun tower and the Red Alert Pillbox, all the memorable sound fx not to mention the very serious storyline and characters, always stood out to me, there is nothing to remember about Generals other than its *polished gameplay*.
Lore wise its DULL, its literally USA vs Afghanistan (or Taliban etc) with China thrown in, its all current day events, sadly its the same to this day. Where's GDI VS Nod, where's Allies vs Soviets?
I will give it cred, just like War 3 greatly expanded on Warcraft 2, and oh man that's a understatement, In Generals, the 3 sides were very different and gave very unique refreshing gameplay, It's big plus! I give them that!
Then the expansion pack they added the FMV's to give the C&C vibes, still i was not falling for it. It was still drab, i found it laughable how they were trying so hard to make it "C&C".
Its the most boring cutscenes i had to watch through, channeling Matthew Perry's Chandler "Could it be any more generic?! " I think i told my dad "Look, theyre trying to be C&C here but failed. Im bored! " The actors did their very best but the material was so dull and grey.
Now im just a "old school Westwood fan* after C&C 1, RA 1 and Tib Sun, Ra 2 and Renegade and Lands of Lore 1-3, i guess im not qualified to answer? Im being sarcastic. im very much so.
I grew up playing the games in the 90s. Its literally my childhood.
Im just as passionate about Westwood as i am about old ID, Raven Software and Looking Glass Studios and Epic with Unreal 1/UT.
C&C Generals, while its a great RTS game i dont find it at all a priority for a remaster, its just a cash grab. It doesnt deserve that treatment in a long while.
The original C&C is to Dune 2 what DooM was to Wolfenstein 3D, a whole gameplay and graphical revolution that still stands to this day, which makes this remaster of the first 2 games very much warranted, they're timeless classics and they paved the way for RTS.
The first 3 games being so very sober and quite damn serious games i might add, Michael Biehn was great as McNeil, whoever says they FMV's are corny are dumb, Gene Dynarsi's Joseph Stalin is chilling, (he still gives me the creeps the mission before and right before he is going to strangle Kukov, you know something bad is gonna happen).
What i love about the first 3 games, C&C, RA and Tiberian Sun, is that no matter what music track next mission starts on, it fits perfectly with whatever you just watched in the FMV, genius.
Anyway, so i find it ironic calling the remaster of the iconic RTS REVOLUTION aside of Warcraft 1 and 2, a cash grab.
In my honest opinon, i would only expect Tiberian Sun to be next, and oh do i love that game.
Sober and serious like the past games and then after that RA 2 and though i dont dislike the story at all i do i dislike the corny characters and overall mood, it set up the campiness you'd find in RA 3. Luckily Jonathan Pryce saved that, atleast the scenes he were in.
In my opinion i would find the remaster lpriority list to be like this.
C&C 1 and RA 1. (What we just got, superbly).
Tiberian Sun (bundled with RA 2/ Yuri's Revenge i presume? Considering they share the same engine and released close to eachother. )
C&C Renegade, the bad ass FPS in the C&C universe.
C&C 3. (Michael Ironside, though he might look bored, still added ALOT of gravitas to his role the badass that he is. All the actors did brilliantly. )
RA3. Yes i even consider RA 3 to be eligible for a remaster BEFORE Generals since i find it is a official C&C game no matter how corny it is. It is following the storyline after all,
C&C 4 (i place it BEFORE Generals. )
C&C4... Eventhough it ended the franchise on a horrible, terrible, abrubt unfullfilling notet, it's STILL a C&C game and brilliantly continues the story in the few good shreds it's got to its name.
It's gameplay was butchered BUT atleast they kept the story going and pretty damn well i would say. I can't complain about the acting because they kept it serious and Joe Kucan stole the show...
And lastly i would put Generals, due to the fact its a damn cash grab and always will be, if you don't agree, you can't seriously claim to be a true C&C or Westwood Studios fans.
Thatäs all im gonna say for now, and all im ever gonna say honestly.
It's been like 3 and a half years since this release i was sorta hoping for a new C&C Remaster by now but i'll still hold on hope
