Garden Update is almost good (but needs to be improved)
It feels a lot better content wise now, but the final quest is still terrible, the philo Salts are still the worst recipe ever. Why did you change the stone one, but not the salt? it requires all kinds of nonsense ingredients.

Also the inventory NEEDS to be larger. Only 3 items in a row? Why? Now with bulk brewing you ll have 50 potions and you have to scroll through them. It seems like the final boss of the game is the small inventory window at this point.

I think it would be better if you had an npcs that encourages you to brew certain potions and then he helps you make the philo salts and it's a much simpler recipe. Maybe you have to enter a dungeon where you have to place potions on altars and if you don't have the right potions it kicks you out. Brewing the salts is very underwhelming compared to how good the rest of the game is.

Hard disagree. The Philosopher Salt being difficult is the point. The other stones/salts are fairly straight forward but they aren't challenging. The game itself isn't super hard and by the time you're making that salt you should have enough materials to just go around the map and get what you need. But it does offer at least SOME challenge to an otherwise easy cozy game.

THIS.
in fact, the stones/salts had been simplified to the point i no longer have to buy more than 30 pages and beg those merchants to give me enough ingredients to craft just one

Disagree as well. This game is not hard at all (and it wasn't even before the update) - the only hard time may be figuring out some things in the beginning. The rest is just repetitive work (and not challenging thinking or dexterity work), and that was even more so before the update. It is a good thing they've greatly reduced the repetitiveness while preserving at least one real challenge in terms of amount of work to be done - the Philosopher Salt. Your point about the senselessness of the ingredients may at least be debatable, though. The new perk system is a much better motivation to stick to this repetitive game (and don't get me wrong - despite it's repetitiveness I like this game).

In the inventory I make heavy use of the compass. I always click on the direction I want to go and it shows me the fitting ingredients on top. This saves me a lot of tedious scrolling in the inventory. This works for the potions as well. Potions with more than one effect I store on shelves at the wall, and I try to have only strong potions in the inventory. This keeps my potion inventory clear and manageable. Which does not mean that one or two additional columns wouldn't improve the inventory.

I didn't say hard AT ALL why do you guys all talk about it being hard? it's just think it's the most tedious thing ever brewing all those potions that aren't even useful for anything other than the salts.

I made philo salts in the old game, and I had my own system for remembering the ingredients. I just don't think it was ever a fun challenge. If you had actual quests or maybe a differnt base for just the salts it might be fun.
