Struggling to avoid BTs

Basically 14 out of 15 times when I am forced to pass somewhere in the vicinity of BTs I end up not managing to avoid them and being drawn towards that mini boss. It's tense ans suspensful ... yea, but by now it's actually getting a bit on my nerves because getting away from it is soooo sloooow.

I'm in this game 100% for the story and 0% looking for a challenge. I'm already playing on very easy. So I imagine it 'should' be possible to at least avoid this mini-boss event from happening at least sometimes, but I fail at that ... all the time. Is there any trick to avoid having to slog away from that "mud-shark-thing" ... every single time?

You're probably running through it, right to get away as fast as possible? That's probably your problem.

You don't go through it as fast as possible, you go slow. You crouch, the moment you get that pop up of holding your breath, you hold your breath while you keep moving foward. As long as you hold your breath the moment they're close, they'll never really catch you.

But when you run around like a madman making noise and all, they're gonna catch you. You can't really outrun them, except with a vehicle but even then they can catch you.

Ditto what Dregora says. If you get a decent view of a BT you can actually watch them phase in and out as toggle holding your breath. It's like a chinese finger trap! (Also keep in mind that you can't cover your mouth to hold your breath if your hands are already engaged e.g. holding your pack straps.)

Oh my god. The BT encounters stressed me out so much that I actually entirely forgot about that option and just stared at the direction of the scanner thingy on my shoulder ... somewhat avoiding that direction and run like my life depended on how fast I can get away.

I'll try the going slow and holding my breath approach. Thanks!

You can throw your poop at it and it will be stun for a few second to let you run pass it.

Its also not a bad idea to scan while standing still, it'll make them visible to you.

Later on, its almost just easier to get caught and take out the mini-bosses.

You can also try using the Sandalweed, I don't know if it affects the BTs(gazers), but it should reduce the sound of your steps. Holding your breath is a big stealth bonus.
Throwing poop bombs is also good for gazers.
I've managed to ride around BTs(gazers); you have to avoid the gazers by at least 1-2 meters and keep momentum.
The biggest mistake is to directly make contact with the gazers if you are stealthing, but if u shake the gazers off I've managed to run way from being snatched.
I've recently started hiding my gear from timefall, being snatched by gazers, and defeating the BT(catcher). So the area can become peaceful and I can enjoy the area stress free.
To release a BT(catcher) back to the other-side, spam "Hematic grenades" and keep high ground.

Really...? I'm playing on Very Hard and I find it's way too easy to avoid them. Make sure you're crouched (C) while in their vicinity and also moving slowly. (Ctrl) Any time you're close enough that the footprints start you should hold your breath (Alt) until you're out of their immediate vicinity.

I have YET to be caught by a BT even when there is a significant density of them.

I also hate challenge, I've played enough games and I'm too old for that sh@&, but it's not bad.

1. Stock up on 2-3 hematic grenades and blood bags
2. Crouch and pay attention to the direction the odarek is pointing
3. Use the scanner because it sometimes reveals the BT location
4. Throw the hematic grenade at the BT(s)
5. ???
6. Profit

If there are two BTs floating together, try to get them both with one grenade. Keep moving slow and low because BTs seem to respawn within 5 minutes.

If you're not using hemetic grenades, you really should be. BTs are an absolute joke with them. Sometimes you'll run into BTs that are massive lads that will take a lot of effort to take down but the vast majority of them are 1-2 grenades to kill max.

If you haven't gotten hemetic grenades yet, crouch and stand still, then ping with your scanner and you'll be able to see BTs. Easy.

Eventually you'll get a BT handgun which takes most of them out in 1-2 shots. Definitely becomes less tense when you're flinging blood bullets and fart grenades at them.

You have to undertand that's its a VideoGame, BT's are just Scripted.

best way ive found is, like other people have said, use the blood/poop grenades on specific ones if they are blocking an otherwise clear path.

My biggest tip is simple, move slow, always crouched and basically if you see the sensor go yellow, hold ur breath and tap to see exactly where it is, try and keep ur distance to where its white, not always possible but try. Remember that as long as u hold ur breath a back away slowly theyre unlikely to see you

lv.2 Bola, piss grenades, scans. Shouldn't be hard to pass by them, they never aggro to me even on heard, hold breath and move away when the scanner goes yellow and you are fine.

Get the mini boss and only have 1-2 hem grenades but guns? Hit the boss them pot shot it full of holes with a shotgun through the cloud.

All encounters outside a cutscene are avoidable.
